My first bike in a WHILE, i use it as a commuter around town, if I’m not getting on the highway I almost always ride my bike. I got the frame off craigslist and it does not fit me, but I can switch frames later. I usually run a front brake, I’m not too worried with looking cool, I’d rather have it than not.
Parts:
- 74ish Schwinn Le Tour 25″ frame (Panasonic)
- Weinmann DP18′s white/black/black Flip flop fixed/fixed
- Formula 16T Cog w/ Dura Ace lockring
- ACS Claws 18T Freewheel, getting rid of it for an 19t fixed cog
- SRAM GXP single speed crankset and bottom bracket 48T
- KMC Chain
- Charge Spoon Cromo saddle
- Origin 8 Pedals … Garbage IMO
- Continental ULTRA Sport 23′s
- White cork bar tape
The Purple on the forks is nowhere near that bright in real life.

you say that front brake works? Nice bike anyhow.

No sir, I did not say that.
Waiting for the paint to dry, hence “usually”.
Thank you for the compliment, I know what you meant.

Ha ha…
I know what you mean about the “purple” on the forks. I have a RED bike and every time I take a pic, it turns out orange, and the bar tape looks pink.
And I usually always run two brakes…mostly. (always) Unless of course, I am painting it.
good talk.

Nice Lakers bike. Looks like you need new white tape though.

Fun to look at. It reminds me of a colorful parrot. Nice.

nice lookin bike, but id probably get some new pedal, my old origin8 track pedals were super heavy and totally shit as you said. otherwise sweet looking bike lovin the flop and chop on this. might look nicer without the logo stickers though.

love these old yellow schwinn frames…hate the purple fork abomination. Yeah, whenever you see pedals with a non-removable plastic dust cover, run away (unless it’s free…then you can take it apart, without worry, and loosen the inevitably grinding bearing cones)
