Sexy. A beauty to behold. 27″s, honey leather, old school hubs and a manageable gear ratio. i can find nothing wrong with this bike. even the kickstand passes in my book. cheers.

It is surprising this bike is not rated higher. If it is not a 10 what is? The top ten on the ratings are all close at between 7 and 6 . Hard to figure. This is a 10 in my Book. Thanks

This bike has Classic staying power. I would like to see this pictured next to Blue Steal which is near it in the top ten ratings. To compare side by side. I really like Vintage.

I don’t ride fixed gear. I want know the reason behind riding a fixed gear bicycle without brakes. A well thought out answer on the brakeless part. I’m not one of those people who immediately assume it’s a trend that idots alike follow. I really like to dig deep. Hence, this question will give me a better understanding of the culture. I am pretty sure there is a reasonable explanation behind it and I am interested in your answer. Oh and please don’t answer this if you have no idea what your talking about, or don’t know how to explain yourself effectively. Thanks and I am interested in you answers.
This is a pretty amazing bike. It’s next level and classical. Nice work. And I am also interested in a little history of the bike.

Bryan – I ride fixed gear, but I don’t understand why anyone would ride without a break unless they’re on the track and I’d also like to know. Seems like an accident waiting to happen if you ask me.
March 17th, 2010 @11:13 am
Haha. Amy you’re so right. There’s no need for a break on the track….I mean the races aren’t THAT long. But I for one love to break for a beer when I’m out on the road.
March 17th, 2010 @11:27 am
i meant brake
March 22nd, 2010 @8:11 pm
@ Brian
because on flat land you rarely notice brakeless-ness as long as you have a smaller gear ratio. i rode two years through rush hour traffic across a city of 150,000 with 45-15 and only needed a brake twice, and in both instances i avoided getting damaged. having said that, i now ride and strongly advice only a front brake. brakeless-ness is part minimalism, aesthetics, pride, and the transition of brakeless velodrome bikes to the city streets for training purposes. hope that helps.

Sweet bike! Real stylish.

bryan:
im just going to throw this out there in case its not obvious (which it wasn’t for me at one point): you can slow your self down on a fixed gear bike with backwards force on the pedals, decreasing forward motion.
you can even brake by doing skid stops by getting some of your weight off the back tire and locking your legs so both the pedals and wheel stop forward rotation, hence skidding.
sorry if you already knew that lol
but that said i ride fixed and brake/slow down those two ways but i also have a front brake to keep options open ;p
May 4th, 2010 @10:46 pm
Did know and I do all three, back pedal, skid stop and handbrake. But for Bryans benefit.
