nice stem, over the top crap build-where’s the tube rag?

I’m really glad I could see the “Nitto Jaguar” up close. For someone so proud of the NJS, you’d think the picture would have included the stamp.

sloman do you know the brand BALK? To bad. what is a tube rag?
Virgil Q Staphbeard your right but it has the NJS stamp.

Wow, tube rag hate, and you don’t even HAVE one!
I like this bike. My only criticism is some of the angles look like they could be adjusted… the seat looks like it’s angled funny, and maybe the bars are slightly over-sized. But that could just be the angle of the photo.
Fuck all that noise, you’re bike is sweet.

Sloman, you can sure be a miserable old prick. How is this over the top, or crap? Your mongrel looks like a hobo’s asshole compared to this. This is a true track build, down to the gear ratio, disc wheel, drops, and NJS. If you actually examined this rather than gave it a quick, condemnatory, septugenarian glance you might have seen that. Only changes would be track grips, no spoke cards, toe clips, saddle.

So you don’t consider a tubular disc, naked bars,no straps(though those may be SPDs),and bogus spoke cards “over the top”? ,on a street bike? nowhere does this say it sees a ‘drome. Therefore I don’t assume it’s a track bike, despite the awesome gear.

The beauty of fixed gear is the street integration of track style and components. Who cares if he makes it to the velodrome. How many velodromes are there? How often have you been to the velodrome? What’s wrong with the rear wheel? Those pedals are definitely SPDs. And so what, naked bars are a quick fix. I’m not denying this needs a few minor tweaks, but an outright denial is simply rash and ignorant. And condemning it for being a “track” bike that never sees the track is completely asinine.
