An old 10 Speed my mom use to ride and handed down to me. I had to weld both chain-stays back in place and I just finished the paint. It’s still a work in progress but I like it so far…

Dude, if you really want to document your conversion of a crappy old ten speed to a fixie, get on a forum or start your own blog and come back here when it’s finished.

shoulda taken the failing chainstays as a sign: this frame sucks, the kickstand sucks and the paint job looks like shit. Run away!
