what the fuck

Hahahaha! How do you submit a bike like this with NO DETAILS??! I would be terrified to ride this on the track (not because anything is wrong with it just because the positioning is way way angled). I can’t imagine being that far pitched forward. Are those tubular rims? How long ago was this frame made? Back story!!

yes,I bet this beauty doesn’t get commutered.track bikes rock(on the track)enjoy

Holy crap. Whatdya mean guys? I’m sure he does cyclocross and freestyle on this frame. Couldn’t be more comfortable. But in all seriousness this frame is intense and I really dig the curved seat tube. CS I would venture and guess it’s an NJS set.

fuck all those “track bikes belong to on the track” comments.
ride this think through the city brakeless!!
May 27th, 2010 @9:35 am
This thing is wicked. Funny frames look so cool.

here are some Details. The frame was made during 1980-90. SLX Tubing, aero downtube, aero seattube with custom seatpost, wishbone seatstays.
The wheels are Corima tubular. Saddle is an Selle Dolphin. Orginally meant for 24″ Fork and Wheels … so in fact the angles are more extreme as in this “relaxed” setup. These were made for the GDR Pros for Pursuit (4 man), to be more aero and nearer to the next man’s back. Sometimes it gets ridden in the city … but it’s no fun

A lot of this style of frames were made in the mid to late 80s. mainly for use on track, but some were built just for time trials. Built for speed not comfort. It was the “No pain, no gain” era. Stuff that! Wouldn’t take one on a cycle tour, that’s for sure. Certainly interesting to look at though.

Looks OK for up hill, but you would slide off on the flat.

HOLY CRAP! I’ve heard of the “horizontal spine” position, but this takes it a whole lot further.
What an awesome track bike, I love the crazy angles. If I had one like this, I’d built a hut in the middle of a track or velo, just so I could ride it every day- my kind of fast!
Benny: what gearing are you running? It must be good for 50mph+
May 27th, 2010 @3:58 pm
@Benny – Awesome!
May 28th, 2010 @5:18 am
gearing is very decent. Just a big Chainring (53t) and a 19t cog. You would have to spin like hell to go 50mph
May 28th, 2010 @6:02 am
@benny, I run 48/16 and have had 40mph showing on my computer. Got an mtb I run on 52/14 and can hit over 40 easily. Follow the gear calculator link on racing Wasp and find out what you’d theoretically reach. I have no idea what i’d get with your gearing, but I know it’d be fast
May 28th, 2010 @8:19 am
even at 200rpm you only reach ~43mp/h. The gearing is not a “competition setup”. I would probably put a 14t cog or smaller.
May 28th, 2010 @8:23 am
thats a lot of RPM.lower cog for sure before your knees explode.135 is pretty much max for me and thats no or little load. But the pain is so good.
May 28th, 2010 @1:17 pm
ooh that’s a lot of revs. I average about 120rpm on a commute, but reach 180 when really pushing. Haven’t actually worked out max speed on my new ratio on Wasp yet- fitted a 14t sprocket so I can run either a 48/17 for easy days, or 48/14 for a good workout
May 28th, 2010 @1:31 pm
erectile dysfunction at that rpm if sustained. You will need three cages at that speed. Scrambled eggs !
May 28th, 2010 @3:00 pm
i think i would be scared to ride this bike lol

If this isn’t hanging on a wall after rides, it’s ART waiting to happen. Dig the photo too…we got lines goin everywhere.

Benny, for sure this looks like no fun to ride, even tho it’s interesting to look at. Since fun is a big deal for me, I wouldn’t get much use out of a bike like this.

Stunning bike but geometry looks very lazy with the 26″ frontwheel. What happened to the original 24″ fork?
July 15th, 2011 @6:03 pm
Heaven
Those wheels are delicious!
