I like the lacing on the rear wheel, and I ‘ll quit mentioning the stickers.

interesting bars…not something I would put on my bike, but they’re not the worst bullhorns I’ve seen

Wow. Beautiful frame and fork.

I’m in love with all but the bars. This needs a flat bar or cruiser bar – something like moustache bars. Velo Orange? Superb frame build.

Hi guys – the bars – ok – but this is so easy to change. Thanks for the tip “velo orange” but – first i know them, second – they are to expencive, and last here in Germany we hava lot shops for singlespeed parts. Hava look at http://www.singlespeedshop.com – parts without an end. The bars you see is an normal touring version. I turn it down and cut the long ends. If you like it or not – they are comfortable to ride.
And – no question – not everybody like what i build – and i think this is good – because all bikes will look the same.

How can those bars be THAT comfortable? I can’t imagine there are more than two hand positions that make this bar comfortable. That flop n chop defeats the purpose of riding bullhorns. But the bike is gorgeous!
January 16th, 2012 @11:55 am
to me, those bars look like they really only have one comfortable hand position. If you’re gonna ride the bike any distance over a couple blocks, two (complete) hand positions are much more comfortable

Excellent job on the frame! There may not be another self-built on this site. You should be proud.

Ok boys and girls ( are there some??) i will change the bar the next time – and follow your critic eyes. I try a classic track bar from nitto.
Surprise for me, that you all hava look on that easy to change part. This is only a bolt on thing.
So you will see what happen.

Nitto is a good way to go. Though not exactly cheap either. Eighth Inch, by the way, is an American company based in Wisconsin. Again, superb build.

thats super awesome you built the frame yourself, super kudos.
its really a nice build as is.
but if i had to nit pick, i would have to agree with everyone on the handlebars. they look….off. but if you like them and feel comfortable then leave them.
track drops or actual bullhorns (instead of flop n chops) i would prefer. same tape though. nitto is nice but pricey, i dont think its necessary to buy super expensive bars for this. some generic company’s silver bullhorns would be perfectly fine on this.
but even as is, its a very nice bike.

“Thanks for the flowers” – but i hava contact in Japan and can get Nitto parts ( used ) for cool price. So the Nitto racebar is cheaper that for ex. a charge bowl or some part like this. The bike was so expencive that this makes no matter. I wait for the parts now, than you all get the update. I will try Jaguar stem or a stem witch is higher – i will see what better fit.

Nice build , never mind the comments about the bars , I would leave it as it is , the build reflects your personality , who cares what anyone else thinks. Quite honestly the people on this site who are critics , have missed the boat , a true bicycle enthusiast embraces other individuals work , not tear it to pieces..
