Handlebar is waaay too wide. The sign of a good handlebar is when you can cut one Oury grip in half, use the two pieces and toss the other one. ;]

The frame makes a stylin Fixie. Aero fits with frame. Narrow bar looks hot, just a bit more length would show good sense.

my honest opinion, no hate:
first off, the handlebars just look so overly trendy and non-functional. i can understand being a hipster and wanting a hipster-cool bike but i think the super short handlebars don’t look cool at all, if anything it looks like you are trying to fit in. there really isn’t any benefit to having them that short and it looks very amateur. i notice in picture 2 you have drops, you should definitely throw those on instead, it would seriously make your bike build look WAY better, on top of providing allot more comfortable hand positions. to me, it seems like the super short handlebar thing = looking cool to teenage kids that arn’t super knowledgeable about bikes. im sorry if this sounds harsh, im not trying to be mean, just being honest.
the white aero looking frame actually looks nice paired with the white aerospoke in back. they compliment each other well aesthetically.
the spinergy front looks off to me. ive never liked seeing 5 spoke aerospokes with 4 spoke wheels, or trispoke with 4 spoke, etc. it looks off to me. another white aerospoke front would make sense (albeit expensive)….or a deep V-ish front white wheel would work too. maybe a white b43 or the like.
also, level your saddle. having it point down like that will result in you sliding downwards and placing too much weight on your hands. also, a level saddle looks nicer. on that note i think a white Turbo saddle could look sick on this.
a white chainring would work too…
basically im seeing this bike looking sick with mostly all white and touches of black. it has potential.

I like the build, looks like a fun bike, but I would go with the white aerospokes all arround. Dont mix and match wheels, it looks stupid. And on that subject, get longer handlebars. Go with some reasonable risers, those super short straights will make whomever is riding that thing look stupid, and you have absolutely no benefit! If thr handlebars are shorter than the width of your waist it wont “help in traffic” either. Other than that, it looks like a cool build. Update, and use a better camera, or atleast tkae the bike outside where there is some light.

I like that frame. What is it? Is it a Kestrel? My Kestrel road bike’s frame looks similar. Just the monostay-seattube-joint is lower and the top tube is a little lo pro. I can picture this with a matching white aerospoke in front. The soft transitions of the frame make it look as if it came from the same factory as the wheels. Speaking of components I would suggest to use only black stuff. You allready have mostly black components and it would look cool to keep it all down a bit and give the white a good contrast so it pops out. And you’d only have to replace that ugly shock absorbing seatpost, the chain and front tyre. For colour you could just use stickers like you have already started anyway.
Same as illdthedj about the bars. Though I don’t think it absolutely needs drops. Would definitely look better to me, but that’s my taste. Mere a wider bar would work, too. If you cut it to better sneak through cars and buses, remember you have shoulders and hips…

I’m a huge fan of Spinergy’s but agree with the above that it looks out of place on this build. The spokes are very angular compared to the round corners of the frame and aerospoke. Aerospoke matches it nicely.
I’d also change the steering. A riser (such as the Charge riser) would look cool but I wouldn’t cut it down any narrower than shoulderwidth. Nice frame.

Sick bike. If your shoulders are as narrow as those bars then go for it.

sometimes, the best bar is the grip itself NG
April 5th, 2011 @8:10 pm
Um where the fuck are your handlebars?

Two matching aero spokes and a riser bar would be my choice. Also remove all those stickers. They take away from the flow of the lines on this frame. Head badge looks cool though. Throw in a front brake and I’d say you have yourself a pretty nice bike. Just my two cents.

Nothing can safe that “thing”, just a complete makeover. I’m always wondering: Do you really like what you build there or is it just the “oh i put as many fancy ugly things on it as I can”-thinking? Seriously, you cant think that looks good, do you?

i like the whole bike, but besides the obvious handlebar width, i would cut that fork and get the right stem angle figured out. Sick frame

1 ft handlebar + spinergy = road rash
May 13th, 2012 @12:31 pm
is it even a foot wide?
