Wasn’t that all the rage back in the day?

I’ve been planning on building up a touring frame and one of the frames I’ve been considering is the Soma Sage. Soma seems to build pretty nice bikes. This one looks nice, although I’m kind of surprised that they use stamped fork ends instead of forged. The bike looks great. I like your wrench hiding spot. is that built so that you can pull the wrench off easily or do you have to actually unbolt the bottle cage to get to it?

The wrench comes with wingnut type screws, although I have the wrench fastened with the normal bottle cage screws. You do have to remove the bottle cage to get the wrench.

Yeah, that much cable was the rage back in the day (70′s, 80′s?). I remember before aero levers when the pros ran like that. I don’t see anything unsafe about it; nowdays, I just think it’s a matter of style. This bike’s a 10 in my book.

What a pretty singlespeed. Somewhat similar color scheme to what I tried. I like it

im glad i saw this nice and classy build after seeing that black/red/gold tokyo langster with a giant purple deep V and white wheel. thanks, this bike alleviated (some of) my anger.

It is a Felt wrench. You should be able to order it from your LBS that sells Felt.

I like this frame too. I was surprised how light it was compared to a Bare Knuckle.

don’t see freewheel single speeds that often. Trials freewheel is impressive. Kinda wish I had an eno…but my bike is a relative pos. I usually don’t like the 70s look of Drillium circles, but the elongated holes on those brake levers are relatively futuristic.

This is a beautiful bike, and very refreshing after witnessing some of the garbage littering the pages of Urban Velo magazine. I’m currently on the fence between Soma’s Hellyer crankset and FSA’s Gimondi crankset. Perhaps you could describe your experience with the Hellyer’s? Thanks in advance.
