Looks a lot better with that seat post turned around.

Even with the Chrome Springs the saddle and post look very nice now. The chrome springs go with the other shining metal parts. Good Work.

Just an thought…because they’ve been SO good to me. When you’re considering your next tire purchase, look at Gatorskins. The rust colored mesh sidewall would be perfect with your colors. They’re super tough and handle well.

^ Agreed

im actually ordering a pair of gatorskins next week, haha. have had them in mind for a while! theres something about a pseudo kevlar lining that just sounds fantastic to me!

Jack, you may already know this. Get the folding Gatorskins. I’ve heard about the wire bead type causing tube punctures.

hadnt heard that yet, definitely appreciate the info!

are you sure thats a Sintesi?the slash cuts on the seat post don’t look right somehow.nice ride,I wouldn’tchang the colors.
February 25th, 2010 @2:02 pm
Much better. I would go with a chrome (ish) rear wheel though to continue the chrome trend.

thanks guys, and yea its definitely a sintesi, it was rattle canned black when i got it and i stripped it down to original paint, but the original was chipping and peeling so i redid it. not 100% sure on what wheels yet, i’m going to need a new crank soon as well

question for you guys. im looking to buy a new crank, and its a toss up between a sugino messenger and an all city. any opinions?
February 27th, 2010 @10:38 pm
you have a budget jack?
February 28th, 2010 @10:31 am
sort’ve. i can always manage to delegate money accordingly if theres something a little higher priced. i dont really want to spend over $160 though. why waddya thinking?
February 28th, 2010 @11:39 am
cause all stars have the track 144 BCD while messengers have 130 BCD, if it makes a difference to you… and also, Miche cranks look pretty nice. http://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_STOR20.cgi?Action=Details&ProdID=473 <- free shipping place

scratch that, these would be killer on your bike http://www.peregrinecyclery.com/product_info.php?cPath=79_87&products_id=4030

I bought a used Shimano crank 130 mm. Bolt Circle Diameter and the Biopace chainwheel 52 and 42. I used the 42 and 14 cog. The Biopace is not concentric by design (check out Sheldon Brown’s article) it feels the same but the load is different and the Knees appreciate the difference so far. Cost with shipping was around $40 a little scuffed up alloy but works fine and is heavy duty. Thanks

WSB is the 52tring for track or gear chain?
April 28th, 2010 @6:22 pm
very nice build!
i dig the colors quite a bit…mature, understated, classy.
April 28th, 2010 @6:42 pm
Sloman, the 52 tooth and 42 were on a geared crank ( 3/32 inch chain) set up, so I only used the 42 on the crank after getting the single bolts. The 52 ring I will use on another bike since I picked up another 130 mm. bolt circle diameter crank. I think the 3/32 chain is plenty strong and a bit lighter than the 4/32 . thanks

I suppose the fork color ties in with the saddle color, but It would look better with a Chromed fork and seatpost to tie in with the saddle chromed springs and rails. If you find a chromed fork let me know since my ride will look sharp with one also.
April 28th, 2010 @8:37 pm
you can’t beat the look of a chromed raked fork.
