Sloman, get a life. Track bikes with brakes look ugly as shit and you know it. You’re just too much of a pussy to go brakeless so you pretend that brakeless is bad. If you would like, i would suggest you get yourself a real fixed gear, grow a set of balls where that cavernous pussy is, and take your ugly ass brake off.
Good day to you sir.

Am I missing something here? This is like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Those are Velocity Chukkers, though aren’t they? Do those come stock or am I mistaken? Sloman you should really give this hipster a brake (pun intended). It’s black, it’s comfy, it’s young and senseless, sort of like the Audi A4 wagons I see driven by rich self righteous assholes. I wouldn’t have taken such a disliking to this if it weren’t for the flowery title and arrogant “Rich Kidd” so I agree with Ben, throw this in the river.

@ punch & bad idea you’re haters these are not expensive bikes so the “richkid” remarks just make you look like dicks. and punch an A4 that’s the cheapest car audi makes. maybe you meant middleclass assholes? i like these maybe because i remeber the orginal bmx pk rippers. i feel like you guys have a either a very narrow view of cycling in general, or just don’t know shit.
old skool SE rippers were the shit when I was a lad in the 80′s-90′s in U.K,if you had one you were a kingpin,a top dog,we thought we were rad(ha ha…I said rad) on our haro’s and GT’s til someone rolled in on a ripper,the rider didnt even have to do any tricks,it was a we’re not worthy moment,I guess im sayin the ripper has history,respect due,sure thay prolly redoin it to generate dollars but at the end thats what it is
Sup, that doesn’t make Audi cheap just because it’s their “cheapest model” considering my car cost me $3000. Anyway, like I said, I don’t mind this bike, if anything I like it’s relaxed bmx kind of approach to fixed gear, I just don’t appreciate the way he went about presenting it. Personally I prefer upright riding positions and the riser bars that support them, and I could see myself riding something like this if I was seventeen and into Linkin Park or whatever alternative bands kids listen to these days. It’s not my cup of tea but it’s an okay build, the attitude is what I don’t understand. Regards.
expensive doesn’t make an item good.owned an Audi once,over complicated and hard too fix all the time-POS big time.If this is for trikin’ fine,another stupid activity for adults.
@RyanB
Your comment about PK Rippers took me right back to summers in the UK with me and my mates hanging out trying to land 360′s on our Burner’s.
PK Rippers where definitely rad. There was a kid on our street had a Ripper and we all wanted him to be a poser, but unfortunately it wasn’t the case as he demonstrated when he whealied two miles home after busting his front wheel at our local track.
Rad bike and rad rider. Damn I hated that kid! And I can’t believe that I used the terms rad and poser.
I was never into “tricking” when I was a kid with a Redline bmx but I did enjoy a good non stop sprint from one side of town to the other, hopping curbs and avoiding collisions all the way. My enjoyment and style of riding bmx definitely translates into my fixed gear riding experience, which is why I enjoy lower gear ratios, risers, and rear wheel skids (rear hand brake for bmx, legs for fixed). Anyway, my point is that I see what this bike is about and identify with it, even if it’s owned by a possible partial doucher as described by bad idea and defies the “road bike” subgenre to which it belongs.

didn’t say an audi was cheap just you don’t have to be rich to own one it’s not a bentley
I like the whole fixed scene as it does remind me of the old BMX days and I’ve stll got a BMX and they’re still a blast to mess around on. The main problem I have is that the riders nowadays are so frigging good.
I usually ride with my mates and it’s funny to see the looks on various kids faces when a bunch of guys in their late thirties turn up to one of the SF spots and start grinding rails and stuff. Then of course we get totally shown up by a ten year old but it’s still a good way to spend an afternoon.
Also I’m not calling out Rich Kidd as a doucher, I just think the name of his bike is amusing. The whole vampire thing is really big with teens at the moment so naming your bike The Dark Angel might be cool, but I’m just too old to realize it (but I fucking hope not).

@ bad, right on get the same thing when i skate these little bastards are good. didn’t realize dark angel was a vampire ref. i guess i’m out of the loop w/ it i haven’t been into vampires since “lost boys”
The little bastards are good, but being older has the advantage of being able to tell private security guards to go fuck themselves when they try to move you on mid-session.
This works particularly well when one of your friends is six foot seven and built like a brick shithouse.
Revenge is sweet! Security guards where the bane of my existence in my teens.
I like this type of conversating,talking bout back in the day shit but most of us over 30′s are still kickin it,I still bmx and teachin my 13 yr old daughter to do the basics,just got her a longboard to carve it up,still do sk8ing,I have 2 girls and 2 boys they all have a bmx each an mtb each the youngest (4) he has a drift trike my older boy (6)also has a mean chopper I built him,and both girls have a lowrider,1 decked out with trimmings and 1 like a dragster,I think al up there would be a total of around 25 comlpete working bikes in the family,with all this going on theres no chance of me giving up what I do,and Im listening to beastie boys as I write this,sometimes all is right in the universe,Im glad I am part of this forum,cheers guys….spark the interest,thats what its about
Ryan, you must have either a big barn for storage or a walk out basement or a yard full of wheeled things. Sounds interesting and fun. You need a tandem also.
@Ryan
Is there anywhere where we can see pictures of the lowrider bikes?
Otherwise I’ll be letting my wife know that my bike collection is pretty damn small compared to the 25 bikes you keep running. I’m at three fixes/SS’s (one finished, one waiting for teardown then paint, and one of course in in pieces in various boxes around our loft), a BMX and an old Mountain Bike that I really need to repair.
My house is a revolving door of bicycles due to lack of storage space, so it’s cool you guys can have so many multi-purpose bikes simultaneously.
Mashing was enough for the kids in my neighborhood. If you did tricks it was on a skateboard. But all the fixer kids are doing legs-over-the-bar skid stops and spinning wheelies etc. these days, which is cool, who would think otherwise?, but it’s just not my style, never has been, and I have no inclination to start now. And if the bike alone has the kiddies gawking then that’s enough for me.
@bad idea-if you go into mfgmb#2 and go about 30 posts back I have a link to my flickr,it wil be attentioned @CS,not sure what’s on there as it’s been awhile and don’t go there much anymore,but thing the low lows are on there
Cool setup Ryan. I’m hoping for a garage in my next rental.
As per this vampire theme, I don’t understand this Stephanie Meyer sparkling beauty crap. When I think of vampires Wesley Snipes in a trench coat blasting fully automatic machine guns comes to mind not this angelic morally ambiguous teenage fluff. That’s my short rant on Stephanie Meyer.
cheers,I still have a way to go planing on lining the walls and build some shelves I made an access way into the space next to the garage and under the house (garage is under the house)made some piles and dropped some pallets down so most of the spare bikes and all the frames/wheels go in there which is double the space of the garage,not going to go total anal and outline and hang all my tools on pegboard(nothing wrong wid that tho)its nice and homely like me
If you look closely on the oldskool chop I filled in between the rails from the front head tube all the way to the rear brake bridge and even filled in where the seatpost bolt goes,the frame is an old chinese lookalike from the 70′s,didnt like the look of the original forks (dodgey as)
I’m in my 40′s and still do all these things. My first board was a Logan Earth Ski. You can find one at your local Museum.
When I’m 90 I will probably be posting pictures of my Mobility scooter on some website for people like me. People can comment about the custom IV bag holder or best tire to skid on. Cheers!
@B W-yer man,thats me too,all these things I will do till I am no more,if I become too useless I have my children to teach and in turn they will teach their children(heres hopeing)

Yes I am a dick, but posting a bike called “dark angel” was just too much to resist for someone who watches way too much South Park.
