i will admit to the laziness of it…but i did paint it by hand not with a rattle can. i am having a hard time with the saddle to be honest. I like the feel of the classic saddle, but its bulky. still looking for the right one. but i agree deff red tires. thank you.
If you put red tires/saddle on it it will look like any other overly colour cordinated hipster sled.. I suggest you stay with the black saddle and tyres combo.
Looking good. I wouldn’t do color. Get a Brooks saddle, MKS clips, brown leather straps and tape, a good set of normal black nonhipster tires. Go classic not tarck.
although i agree with the fact that a brooks saddle looks nice, they are expensive. The frame on this is a ross. I bought it off a guy for $10. I cant justify putting a brooks on it. Im probably going to end up waiting until I stumble on something rather than actually go shopping. I do agree with the toe cages and foot straps for sure. And as far as the red tires/hipster thing, I think they’ll look good, and if someone wants to call it a hipster bike then so be it. tomorrow i’ll wear a plaid shirt and they can call me a lumberjack.
Although Brooks can be expensive, there are used and comparable saddles on eBay. IMO, little can be justified on a fixed gear bike. So many conversions involve frames less valuable than it’s components. And as the wife says, no hobby can be justified except for the happiness it brings.
thanks sloman. and bobc4t, your wife has a point about hobbies. as the bike continues to progress, i will post updates. as always i appreciate the thoughts.

pretty cool little bike. Yes on the red tires, but no on the red seat (most of them look like shit)

remove the headset before painting next time. A make or break detail. This looks lazy/cheap.
