needs a better seat unless that one is comfy. Use a rack insread of that ugly “fender”, that way it at least has a function besides being an eyesore. Shave sound good but lots of work for a so-so frame. It’s a tonner, might be cost ahead to go with better frame and go beater with this.

if that’s a one-piece crank i’d replace it first. sloman makes a good point about the rack. i commuted and made grocery runs with a rack and it’s incredibly useful and aesthetic. a saddle and some white (tires, grips, straps) would look nice. if you’re dead set on painting you should stay close to original color-love the blue.

i already converted the crank with an adapter, it was surprisingly easy. white would look pretty good with the light blue. this def is a beater though. cant really afford to throw a brooks saddle on…any suggestions on a good saddle for decent cash?

Nashbar has a “brooks type” saddle on closeout for $29.99. Would be perfect for a beater. Luck.

Please don´t paint it, it has a nice beater vibe right now and paint would kill it.. Same goes for matching tyres, saddles stuff..
Chargebikes.com has a nice vintage looking saddle called the “bucket” that would match the frame, it looks a bit like the Selle Turbo..
Maybe some fat 32c cx tires to fill up the frame a bit?

Hey, thanks for the advice. I appreciate it. I want it to have the beater vibe but don’t want it to look like complete shit. It is a heavy frame but I like having somet hing a little heavy. It makes me feel safer while riding through traffic.

check eBay for used leather saddles. good deals on there. craigslist too.

as it is now, saddle and fender and one piece crank…its a pretty awesome beater bike actually.
