Ya Sure, it has nice classic lines. You did not mention the sexy Brooks saddle. The milwaukee name is done with some style. Nice colors, do you miss the front brake? I would not want to crash this baby. Thanks

Gorgeous bike, easily one of the best looking on this site.
I don’t understand how this could possibly be ranked under 8 stars.
Obviously people be jealous.

Looks great. It made me nuts to see all the parts I’d been collecting laying around, waiting for the rest. But once it finally came together it was well worth it. Congrats on a nice build.

Even the name has a classic ring to it. Van der Wal would be a good name also. Thanks

Beautiful looking bike. Milwaukee bikes makes some really nice looking frames. One question though. Why the top tube protector in the middle of the top tube? The bars are obviously not going to hit and even if they did they wouldn’t hit in the middle of the bike. I didn’t know if it was just for aesthetic purposes or if there was some other reason.

1) Wood Shoes: As a PhD student in chemistry, i love the name van Der Waal. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it earlier. I think it will be a good nickname from time to time.
2) All: thanks for tall the compliments.
3) Chris: The bars do hit, the Jaguar stem is angled down and the bars are flat. The top tube protector is in the middle of the top tube because the bars are quite wide and that is where they hit. I know it may not look like it, but a track geometry also has an angled head tube, which means as you turn the handle bars they actually drop from their normal ‘latitude’. The protector isn’t as important now as it was because I have switched to cork grips. But, in case of a crash, i’m sure I will still appreciate having it there.
