Looking good. I like the iteration in the first pic.

looks like a work horse. Ride on.

I can appreciate a simple build. Level saddle tho.

Proper cockpit set up. And just grand everywhere else.

Geritol to move that gear ratio. Stem needs Viagra!
January 19th, 2012 @8:03 am
My hat is off to you for that ratio! Nice build. What frame is that?
January 19th, 2012 @9:29 am
How do you like that stem, Slo? I’ve been thinking about getting something adjustable like that.
January 19th, 2012 @11:07 am
It’s very useful if you’re like me and switch out bars a lot, what works for drops don’t work for the bulls and even day to day ultra low drops ain’t the way to go. I’ve even gotten used to the looks(they aren’t that bad).As an alternative to a quill it’s fine and handy.

SteveP,I got it from Crosslake Sales,it’s truly a no-name,came in an unmarked box,no COA stickers, serial #. More than happy with it. Rings like Cro-mo and no too heavy. Only bitch is the paint seems “soft” but black is easy to touch up and for under a hundred bucks(including shipping) a new “track” frame, fork and seatpost beats a convert all day long.
January 19th, 2012 @11:30 am
Thanks Sloman, that seems like a pretty good endorsement.
Hmmm, wonder if they sell a raw version.
Are those 27″ wheels? They look pretty tight for 700′s.
January 19th, 2012 @4:27 pm
Yep,27s.Took a little filing to get the front to fit the fork. Raw would be no problem the way the paint nicks LOL.
January 19th, 2012 @9:21 pm
I wish we had a pic of it head on. I want to see what it looks like after it’s been filed. Not good or bad. I’m just curious.
January 20th, 2012 @7:50 am
not a lot to see,it was only a bit like 1/8 inch at the top of the arch.Bit of smoothing, spritz of black. It was so small that it was ok with the crap tires, contact with the Vitts.

Just realized this was yours Sloman. Again, great build. Very minimalist.

Just a post for BC to save an Archives dig. Can’t get a link going for some reason.

I would like this if you weren’t such an ass about it. Bragging about a hundred dollar no-name frame and mislabeling it as “track” is a fucking embarrassment.
April 1st, 2012 @9:53 am
So,like the ride, the rider not so much.I’m cool with that. And I still say this frame it a screaming deal,Makes much more sense than a used up convo.
April 1st, 2012 @10:42 am
Agreed. I would take a new frame with track ends over a conversion for track ends and weight savings alone. But if I was going to upgrade from a conversion, I would upgrade to a genuine track frame.

53 14 and NO Brake. ? I thought you matured past that nonsense Sir Sloman. I would fall headfirst off the bike with the drops as pictured. Has Luftie resurfaced as bc4Twit ?
April 1st, 2012 @7:32 pm
I’m surprized at you WTB,read the “ultimate coaster”line in the description. No,I don’t always ride that low or with drops hence the functional beauty of the adjustable stem. And if I was racing I would have a true track bike but something like this is a much better streeter. No toe bites and stronger construction even if not so pretty.
April 1st, 2012 @7:53 pm
Happen to like the build. Does that mustang run?
April 1st, 2012 @9:50 pm
OK Sloman, I feel better now. The coaster did not tip me off to a brake. Also, I did not see the arm for the coaster brake since pictures were not of that side of the bike. Freewheel is a coaster also. Thanks Ed.
April 2nd, 2012 @10:30 am
Ya,building up a matching 27 flip/flop wheel for the rear and that combo will have a brake or two. Maybe powdercoat the frame red(red bikes are faster).Too blackout this way.
April 2nd, 2012 @12:32 pm
That’s actually pretty genius having a ratio like that on a coaster. The gearing doesn’t affect the coaster brake at all, which would be the opposite with back pedaling or skidding on a fixed gear. And with the freewheel you could rest your legs.
