Did you huff some ether and decide to build it this way? Basically everything on this bike is wrong except for the frame and rear wheel, and I pity anyone who’d want to ride it.
Consider others culture. It looks like a tropical setting is home. It has a brake and practical flat bar and can be spotted from a distance. He uses it . Ride on and be Happy.
This is my busy season. All of the schools are about to get back in session so they need their computers fixed. We’ve been pulling overtime the last couple of weeks. By the time I get home I don’t really want to touch a computer anymore. Related note, I want to punch the apple engineer that came up with the macbook 2007 and 2008 top cases in the face!!!!
The frame looks like a decent steel base and from there it looks like personal choice. I do agree that as far as looks go either get another aero or lose the one you have. Functionally it’s been explained for trick bikes, but is this a trick bike?
The point of posting one’s bike is not to receive a homogenous happy hip hip hooray good for you it’s to get people’s real gritty opinions, and it seems most people agree with me that this was not built properly for the frame. It may be bright and practical in the sense that it rolls on two wheels but as far as sinking so much into this as getting an aero wheel just doesn’t make a lick of logical aesthetic or mechanical sense. If he wants a beater pick up a no name frame out of the dumpster, not a genuine Italian frame. Back me up dudes.
change a wheel, change the stem, maybe the seat,at the end of the day you build a beater with what you got…..but I wouldnt post it if it just plain looks wrong
I have never seen an Italian frame of any sort. Pinarello Clone sounded to my uneducated midwestern Dutch ear as some name made up e.g. Serve Cold or Instant Karma. Negra Modelo anyone ?
This is a really ugly bike. It would be sad if this actually was a Pinarello; but it’s not. I don’t see how being in a “tropical setting” makes this thing any more worth submitting.
@FabFive. You did see part about real gritty opinions right? This isn’t a grade school talent show where everyone gets a pat on the back and a consolation prize. If you’ve built something that doesn’t work aesthetically or logically I’m not going to sugar coat. Like someone said sure I can be an a-hole but someones gotta say the things you’re afraid to.
God I hope this person didn’t put a spinergy wheel on the front for doing tricks. Those things explode easily enough when riding normally!!
Right now I’m more interested in the blue frame growing in the bushes. What is that?
I don’t think this was built for trickin. I’ve never seen a single trick bike w a brake. Pretty hard to do barspins that way. Plus most trick bikes run a really small ratio.
the ratio is small isnt it?but you are right about the brake.
i still think he is doin tricks with his bike.
dont know..i still think the bike looks kind of cool.
sorry for the bad english…small ratio, low saddle, high bars…trick setup. maybe hes doin it like me….riding the bike through the city and then doin some tricking after work. i cant barspin either because of the frame geometrie, but i still have the bike set up not only for normal riding but also for tricks…
blablablabla im sorry
looked like the builder was like “OK, i have a red to orange frame, ill start with red components in the back, then ill put orange…..nah fu@k it!” lol
i dunno. the red back wheel makes sense with a frame that has a red back….red chainring, ok, makes sense…red knog, ok….but then blue, black, tan, and neon green?

One of a kind color scheme for sure. I’ll vote later after the roasting and see how your average is.

Just feel a bit disgusted by this. Sorry. Saw a lovely and loved pin at my bike club last week. This is neither. No vote for you.

I’m going to refer to the cutting of great frames as “castration” going frwrd.

Oh and CS, I mentioned it only because I posted a bike (Bianchi Brera). Luft posted an (Tank Update) and I think Ryan posted something as well

Pinarello
July 23rd, 2010 @5:51 pm
Your point is taken. You are being a bit too harsh though
July 23rd, 2010 @6:06 pm
I got your back Luftie. You want a beater, get a mtb or hybrid to crash about on. Don’t do it on a racer.

is that frame naturally red to orange?
