My first fixed completed.
Time for you to pass judgement. So let me hear it. Know ill take some flameing for no brakes. But tips are welcome for other improvements if they are constructive.
Tried to make it look a bit rough.
Wont go to much into details about parts. Since im not that much into it. Most of you are able to see what parts it is anyways.
While building this bike, i was more concerned about looks and how it was to ride. And quite happy with it atm.
Let me hear what you think.
Ps: Building my bike for the bad winter weather atm. Will post when done. Something real different on its way.

Very pretty (swoon).

Remove some links and suck the rear wheel in. Or buy a black chain and do it right, the second time. Shitty comments aside, nice bike

Tighter, chain too long….

Nice! But it looks like a 10-4 Torro..? looking at the rear drops with the stainless steel facing, the pics iv’e seen off Ostro’s just have a stamped dropout..
Im thinking of getting one actully, really like the look off those frames..

@ k-dregg: Well it is an ostro torro. Think that is what its called atleast. As i uploaded it i just called it Torro V.1, but guess admin changed it to Ostro V.1. (the V.1 being my first versionand go at this bike)
@ Jimme and snake: If I do shorten my chain a bit and move the rear abit closer to the frame, would it matter for the way i handled. Something in my head tells me it would. I am not that experienced yet.
Thx for comments so far

Not my style but nicely done.

again with the far out rear wheel. At least the other one had racy bars and stem.put on bulls and a longer stem after you shorten it up.
August 16th, 2011 @8:37 am
Looking at the pictures of the chainstays/bottombracket junction i doubt you could get the wheel any further forward..
August 16th, 2011 @8:42 am
@ K.dregg: i might be able to move it like 1½cm, dont think i can push it much more.
@ Sloman: For the racy bars, i dont rly think it fits with the frame. I was considering bullhorn for a while as it would fit nicely with the look. But i do feel comfortable rideing with the risers atm. Might try something else later on. Longer stem, hmm no. All those long stems i have seen makes it look akward.
Thx for the comments all, much appreciated

i dunno kdregg it looks like there is plenty of room to pull the back wheel forward. if possible, i would get it closer, change out to black chain…nobody on the saddle angle? i know you are trying to get it the same angle as the top tube but its still going to make you slide forward, putting extra undo strain on the forearms and upper body. try leveling the saddle. not feeling the risers. all that said….i will say this build is definitely not my style, but all in all its actually pretty well executed and i can appreciate it.

i love this bike.

Level the saddle, put some bulls on this pursuit’n machine, and for heaven’s sake, suck in the rear wheel.
August 17th, 2011 @9:05 pm
As you tug the rear wheel closer to the seat tube, it will change the chainline. Depending on your bb it may or may not be maxed out. I agree…level the saddle. And I think this chain looks good…black chain not so much.

Short wheel base makes for twitch or quick handling, a God send when the track pack is taking a spill; Improving your luck not to be part of the accident. Frame is pure speed for the velodrome or city streets. Seat tube says make it short and stiff. Dodge cars, pedestrians or bikers at own risk and go fast. Nice bike!

I don’t know what feames you have ng but on a good track frame the track ends are parellel ground just so a change of gear does not change the chainline. If it does, there is a problem, severe,.
August 18th, 2011 @8:46 pm
Slo I agree about the fork ends. I’m talking about chainline as in how straight the chain is from the cog to the chianring, looking from directly behind the cog, forward.
August 18th, 2011 @11:11 pm
the chainline is a right angle to the axle so movement fore and aft shouldn’t make a lateral shift to the chainline, Of course that assumes a perfect chainline to start with so I think I see what you mean.
August 19th, 2011 @3:16 am
I dont quite understand what you say is wrong with the fork ends?
August 20th, 2011 @9:03 am
Hindsberg, we weren’t talking about YOUR fork ends. Some bikes have ends that aren’t parallel with the ground…sloping downward a little. Yours look level. And what I was trying to say about a straight chainline in relation to how tight the back wheel is pulled toward the frame, is that as you slide the wheel forward or back and increase or decrease the distance between the cog and chainring, it also changes the chainline.
August 20th, 2011 @1:26 pm
I don’t see why you insist the chainline changes. It doesn’t. If the set up is right moving the cog fore or aft still is 120mm spacing(or whatever your spacing is). Obviously the crank remains the same-ergo the chainline remains the same. Chain length overall would depend on gears but looking from the rear the line is the same, paralel to the track of the wheels.
August 20th, 2011 @1:31 pm
and Hindsberg relax, fork ends are at the front ,we are talking about the track ends at the rear. They’re fine but the wheel could be moved forward a bit more that’s all.

Just picked up a bullhorn from cinelli. Some carbo ribbon bar tape. Just waiting to pick up a stem to match as it wasnt in store. Cinelli ant in black. Should fit nicely.
Considering gettin a new crank as well. Prolly the Miche primato advanced pista in black and red, as i think it would fit in nicely. Allthou my “dealer” keeps telling me to get omnium crank, i dont know. Any thoughts? I mainly use it for city rideing. Gonna try and tug in the rear wheel some as well. Never considered it before i posted here. But can see it would look alot better with it tucked in.
Would like to upload some pictures when its done again, but i dont think there is any way to upload more into this post, and then i would have to make a new one, and wouldnt that be abit lame for those 3 changes only. Crank, wheel tuck and bullhorn/stem?
