Shimano DA track cog and lockring.
Dia-Compe front brake (not sure on the lever)
Wellgo track pedals w/ Sunlite steel toe clips and straps
Original road drops chopped and flipped
Everything else is original Univega Made in Japan “SR” stamped parts.
Gear ratio is 40:14

Nice vintage look. By turtle shell powdercoat do you mean just a color or an actual pattern? 40-14 sounds crazy but I bet that 40 feels nice. I’ll be trying out 42-13 on my Giant soon, which is actually quite close. Cheers

The paint job on this guy is pretty unique. Two shades of green, with a texture that resembles a turtle shell. As for the gear ratio, it works well for me. Spin is never a problem, and the hills of Portland aren’t too much of a challenge. I’m sure I’ll hate myself if I try to conquer Mt. Tabor though…

yeah so 42-13 sucks. a boring cruising speed and skidding is a major physical feat. the hills are about the same in tanasbourne but it’s just no whip anymore. I’m going back to 42-17. you should really look into developing the tmnt theme or possibly renaming it Japanese forest (as in forest green). cheers
