I like the Beer by this name, but the bike is lukewarm to me. Instant Karma is much more classically elegant, this one will never be in my book. Thanks
A 10 for spokely, I like the beer too. had not voted previously. Simple question, how do you add air to the pistola valves.? I use the brass adaptor and an air compressor with the narrow blow gun attachment. My hand pump is less efficient and difficult to place just right. Planet something or other pump. The schrader valves of old are easier to be sure. I hate to drill out the pista for schrader and lose the hardy little pista erectile pop up.
@ WSB. **Presta valve. You unscrew the cap and use a presta specific pump. My bike pump has both schrader and presta.

i’m actually a fan of the brass adaptor and those nuts that come w/ your presta tubes help keep the valve stem stable. i keep both in my wallet. the good thing about the city is you can usually find a bike shop/gas station/garage close by w/ a compressor.
Thanks, I use the brass adaptor also, but the pump even with the proper presta setting on the hose is difficult to set just right so I use the narrow blow gun with the compressor and it works fast. Most of the hand pumps have a plastic gizmo to depress the schraeder type of auto/bike valve and most are lame compared to the Milton auto gauge. I also lack a presta air gauge so go with the feel when squeezing tire. I like the practical riser bars on this bike, not as sexy as drops but more practical. I have a Soma Noah’s arc on one bike and like the position.
You’ve got my 10. Risers do look good on this bike.

thanks for the feedback i actually just switched out my wheels to blk/slvr/slvr B43/formulas and am going to change saddle/seatpost and bars and maybe cranks. any suggestions i’m leaning toward a white selle italia turbo/silver thompson not sure on bars yet.
Sub Fresher, silver and black sounds good. Are these purple jobs machined for a brake surface? it is hard to tell in the photo. What frame will the purple jobs go on or did you trade/sell them? Is this black fork carbon or steel? If carbon how much do they weigh? I am thinking of a Chrome Tange fork for a Raleigh which I think has an old steel bent fork but have not taken it off yet to check. Bike pulls to right but looks straight, wheel/rims are new and still pulls. It may have been built on a Friday after Lunch of Bass Ale and fish and chips in Nottingham. The Japs do not drink like the British possibly and the quality is better . The tange has the lugs for a V brake which stop pretty quick compared to calipers of old school.
I’m sorry to hear you ditched the purple wheels. Don’t you like grape kool-aid? I would personally take a concor/supercorsa over a turbo, they just don’t look sleek enough.
Spokely, have you seen the ‘Syntace stratos zero tt’ bar? It’s an interesting bar. Has a cool bend back toward the rider that reminds me of the angle of risers, but doesn’t rise. Kinda hard to describe…maybe Google image it. Would look pretty tough on your rig.

that syntace bar is cool i like the Nitto RB-021 too they seem similar. i am starting to warm up to pursuit/bullhorns but not ready to take the plunge and actually use them. luft welchs grape juice not kool aid. the purple was cool but see to much of that kind of thing around town. basic is the new flash. the concor would be great but i don’t have the budget for it.
Spokely, I’ve looked for a 90mm Alter for you. I’ve never found anything under 100mm. Do they even make a 90? – Time Out – Just looked on ebay a second ago. There’s a nice silver and black 100mm auction at $45.00, ending in 7 hrs. Hope you get this msg…
Got a Globe alloy girls mtb frame. Need a headset and forks for it. Could be a really light build. Will need 1 of those chain tensioner thingys for it if I ride fixed coz the dropouts are verts.
Spokely!!!Where are you? Let’s see…10:40pm, NYC, Friday…. Since nothing closes till what…4am earliest?,,,,you should be home gettin ready to go out. That Alter is at just $50 with about an hour left. 3 bidders…one’s a first time ebayer…you could swoop in and snag it for around $70 I bet. And what…$70 is like 6 beers at a club there….psssh..c’mon.
ill, no I actually met a girl that started her build from the Alter stem.
These bars look sick and make me wanna ditch the risers I so passionately defend. By the way Sup this ride is FRESH. I’ve been working on an 80′s 90′s funk/hiphop mix and thought you’d like to take a look at it so far. Suggestions?

i have no use for it yet…part of me wants to buy it lol
would it be wrong to start a new bike built around a stem? lol
i have already considered starting a build centered around tires (fat franks)…i just love Das Balloon
May 28th, 2010 @3:41 pm
Considering fatboy tyres for Claude. It’ll go with it’s off road background. Idid some paths on Wednseday, got lost, got rained on but was happy.
