why not just wrap the bar’s??? Is it too much f-ing work, wait maybe it’s cause you don’t know how.

No i know how, and it’s not too much work but I am pretty cheap and I salvaged these bars from a seventies varsity and had the grips just lying around…i have different bars on the bike now anyway

plus i think chrome is kinda hot

I dunno… I mean, I see that you have some quality parts on it, but the way it’s put together.. It just doesn’t work.

The question of weather it “works” is to my thinking is: does it function as a bicycle and how well does it archive that goal. Looks like it works to me but what do I know I just run a little shop in Oregon.

This bike is plagued with newb mistakes…pathetic

I’ll go with CS on this one…Good work Drew. Looks solid. And thanks for taking the stickers off the rims.

I like it and it works. It’s a bike, it’s a fixed gear, it’s black, good tires, full of quality parts, not a bad first build if anyone read the header. Who cares about tape versus grips, whatever works. Just because he has grips doesn’t mean he can’t wrap. The top tube pad makes sense with your drops, which doesn’t matter anyway because you say you’ve got different bars. I’d recommend a brake and a comfier saddle. That’s it.
@ Cumai: how exactly doesn’t this work? it’s black and chrome. you’ve disappeared anyway.
@ Chai Latte: what newb mistakes? like getting into bicycling and getting outside? dude, you drink chai how much more pathetic does that get?
Cheers.

Nothing wrong with grips on drops, apart from style maybe. I should know, see my Morris. It does make them more comfy. You can still get the 4 part foam grip kits over here to cover the whole bars. I got some new thicker tape for mine,so maybe my beloved grips won’t fit over any more. Boo,hoo. Retromike said it all,and so did Luftie and ng. Tidy bike.

I like grips on drops. Or tape in a size similar to grips. I like this bike. Great first effort.

Yuck, Kumai and Chai Walla are all morons, this bike is well put together.
Nothing at all wrong with track grips on track drops. track drops are meant to have grips, wtf is Yuck talking about?
And how does this build “not work?” it looks good to me, and if its rideable then i would say it does work. i dont really see any newb mistakes, besides the lack of a brake.
Top tube pads are debatable, but this one is very understated so i think it works.
all in all i think its a quality first build, i dont know what those three idiots are hating on.

Yeah those guys were lame…Kumai was the biggest hater ever. And I’m pretty sure he never even posted his bike. Chai Walla was a flash in the pan, clowned himself right off the site and Yuck just seemed to make a lot of noise…never really said anything. Here’s yuck’s bike…supposedly it “kills fools off the line.” The comments on yuck’s bike are pretty funny.. http://www.myfixedgear.net/quazy-moto

my first build was no where near this nice.good show

It’s great seeing this again. It totally lacks newb mistakes, ie aerospoke, colored chain, goofy colors, wrong size frame for rider, though as ill said it’s brakeless; but brakeless is ok considering the context: track fork, track drops, and track grips, on a literal track.
