Suggestions: eliminate everything colored brown, black, or silver/chrome, then build from what’s left.

As is may have freewheel,if so, Run the brake to the rear to give the cable guides purpose. Love the look of the handlebar and stem, Goes with the fork. Throw back to the 40′s. Looks to be a quality frame. Black is classic. Leave enough slack in the chain to grab more than one gear by sliding rear wheel. Maybe get two teeth difference. Retro vibe.

i like the bike from the top tube down. the seat im not digging. im not digging the brown on this bike. a black saddle, like a brooks or turbo, would look nice. and something about the short/high angled stem with those drops looks weird.
im not much of a risers guy, but i would think a black saddle and risers on this with black oury grips would be a clean looking build

GET A LONGER STEM, A 90MM.
get a new saddle.
get some black velocities.
