early 70′s Motobecane Grand Record frame with Reynolds 531 tubing and Nervex lugs. Original Stronglite headset and bottom bracket cause the threading is Swiss and French but everything else is new. I still want a better stem, seat post and brake lever but then it is supposedly done

the original wheels were 27 inch and weighed about 3 pounds apiece. I’ll eventually get a new frame and reconvert this to a more classic approach. I saved all the old parts but I just wanted to see how light I could build this up.

those wheels can’t be too much lighter. Glad to hear of the restore plans. So,how much lighter did you get it? AIR those Montes were nice riders but heavy.
