Yes Wood. I now roll ONLY with a Thomson Elite seatpost. They are "supposedly" unbreakable. If my fat ass(160 lbs) can break one of those, I will try to lose some weight.

Seatpost of elegance makes more sense than a Diamond ring on your pinky finger. If he had a shitola seatpost we would tell him to go Campy right ? ng broke a post on Instant Karma going downhill at break neck speed. What say you ng ?

sometimes common sense/logic/astetixs doesnt exist,my 3sp commuter is reliable, has mostly o.k/good parts on it,but is really shitty compared to proper commuters, but it does have a rear wheel that is worth more than the whole bike (26" WTB speed disc/w top qaulity shimano hub,not the best but not cheap either),I get asked a lot "why do you have a good rear wheel on this shit heap"well I tell them that I dont look at it as an expensive wheel on shit,I look at it as reliable quality,I had it so I used it,who cares right?...oh and Punch, thats a top qaulity crank,FSA by the looks, hollow axle and outboard bearings....nice

It is a nice seat post, but nice isn't the issue. The fact that dov had to mention that it was extremely expensive is the issue. It has nothing to do with the actual component, but rather the childish way he responded to punch. I mean, if you work hard to pay for the bits you've got, keep at it. But this guy has more dollars than sense. That's my two cents, put it towards a set of seal skin grips.

The seatpost is more elegant than the stem. I like the way the post leans back so to speak and gives a few cm. of extra set back. I put a Walnut steering wheel and shift knob on my 66 Volkswagen beetle 40 years ago and enjoyed it. Same logic. Nice seat post, wish I had one or Two !

The "obviously" not stock seat post is pointless on what's obviously a commuter, and a waste of money if what you're looking for is performance. But it's obvious you're not or else you wouldn't have gotten something that only provides minute weight reduction and primarily aesthetic purposes. The money would have been better spent on upgrading the stock crank, or am I just seeing a nice crank cleverly disguised behind a chainguard? Tighten your chain.

Extremely expensive carbon seat post... Ahh, why? That's like driving a lada, but wait, it has a super expensive palladium gear stick. Is is just me, or is a seat post upgrade waaaaay down the list in terms of both aesthetics and practical importance? Sorry, I'm sure your extremely expensive seat post is wonderful, and good luck to you. I have no idea why your comment made me so cranky.
