It’s interesting looking at these pics and seeing how new someone may be at putting a bike together. It’s a non-drive side pic. Saddle is tilted forward. Long stem and saddle moved far forward to accommodate. I could be wrong but this looks like a first timer. I’m not saying that’s bad at all. We all have to start somewhere and this is a good first go at it (if it is indeed the first). My suggestions functionally would be adjust the saddle so its parallel to the ground; get a stem that’s maybe an inch or so shorter; move the saddle back on the rails after getting the stem so that its better balanced (and you don’t have a lot of your weight on the front or back. After that I’d agree with everyone else as far as wrapping the bars. I like the red rim/tire on the back. It makes the wheel look a bit bigger than it actually is.
Wheel stickers, red tire in front, track grips, cooler/comfier saddle, drop stem/cut steerer tube/different stem. Nice colors. I thought of doing an Iron Man theme but I don’t like the character all that much. Batman has been done (blackout). Superman is too easy and overrated as a character. Wolverine maybe? Watchmen too complicated. Okay I’m done with the super heroes.
You are absolutely right, this is my first bike build. I wanted to make it more of a pursuit bike, hence the tilted seat and such, but I think I will make it parallel for comfort.
p.s. I unintentionally made it a non-drive side pic because I am left handed and that’s the way I put my bike against a wall. Next time I’ll be sure to put it on the crank side
Cool color combo. And though a lugged frame is always my first choice…I do like IRO frames. Yeah, drive side photo should be a given by now. Cranksets are beautiful things….I love to see them. Let’s play “guess that crankset”.
perfect 10! don`t listen to the haters. why get gold bars if you are gonna wrap them? this bike is awesome! it should be top rated. love the red b43 and gold hubs. bars are nice too. enjoy.
kevin: track bars are meant to be rode in the drops. if you had track grips on those you would still see a bunch of gold bar.
not taping bars is just hipster sheep trend humping. its done just for looks while severely sacrificing the functionality of handlebars. nothing wrong with aesthetics, but when you are sacrificing function for looks you are, as they say, “doing it wrong”
Lol. Sloman. JT is such a doucher. What’s your deal man? Seriously. My bike sucks, it’s garbage, everything is liquid gold by comparison. We got it dude. We got the message. Now what? JT is a hate version of Gabe. Spam alert.

whoa. i sort of dig it. cranks look beefy.
tape the bars. untapped bars is just so overly trendy, and highly impractical.
its like not putting grip tape on a skateboard.
in fact i think this build would look even better with some black track grips.

good try,base on balls.needs bar tape.enjoy

and LOL, how many times is some schmuck going to appear in the comments to say “fuck all the haters yo”
it would be funny to see a “fuck all the haters” comment counter, like one of the page visits counter on web pages?
btw no one is really “hating” on anything. but we are severely critiquing, which is sort of the point of this site.
hating would be “your bike fucking sucks and you suck at bikes” etc.
actually, nevermind, i do hate untapped handlebars lol
HATE HATE HATE
i guess this really is the hater’s ball of fixed gear bikes

Bulletproof?
Kevin you’re too easy to please. You’d probably like The Tank. It just looks like a
frame rolling on B43s nothing else super special.
May 27th, 2010 @1:34 pm
Except compare to this, the Tank looks like garbage.
May 27th, 2010 @1:43 pm
compared to this,John Thompsons bike is imaginary.

soo epic im in ove with b43
July 2nd, 2010 @7:12 pm
not feeling the red whee’s…would of gone with either black or gold… but everything else is good
January 23rd, 2011 @12:23 am
IRO makes one of the most attractive, cost effective bikes out there and even though the all red rear doesn’t match so well I think it looks solid.
