This was a cheap craigslist find and converted quickly. This had a hidden heart lug on the down tube. Pretty neat.

It looks quick. I know you’re going retro by keeping those bars but they’d look better if they weren’t wrapped up, considering those are aimed more for cruising and wouldn’t have been wrapped.

I like this build, it looks quick. Don’t like the saddle though- it doesn’t look comfortable or suit the overall lines. I do like the bars- I’ve got exactly the same on an old mtb frame for cruising, but they’ve got to be bare with minimalist grips (I have teardrop ergonomic grips and it’s like an armchair for my hands).
Now go and enjoy it!

I really like the wrapped moustache bars. It lends to many different hand positions. I’d loose the reflector though because sometimes safety just shouldn’t be first.

those bars are cool wrapped, probably comfy as can be.and ya ,safety doesn’t matter Bevis, the world needs organ donors. If the saddle works for you Ken,keep it but it does look odd on a nice ride and is easy to change when you can.enjoy

Nice Nishiki. I like the old school perforated tape. Interesting choice for the brake lever placement. Do you ride with your hands in the bends all of the time or do you just have to change hand position when you’re using the levers?

The safety comment was just a reference to aesthetics and the overall look of the bike, not a personal slam on choosing to use them on the road. We should all be as safe as we can whilst riding among other vehicle’s that can squish us like a bug at any moment. I still say they are ugly, and I still like this bike. To the o/p, sorry for the highjack/rant.
