This 1980′s Peugeot is running Velocity Deep V wheel-set. I trimmed and painted the brake and shifter braze-ons to create that clean track look. The fun and unique piece for this bike is the custom wooden handlebar that I whipped up a couple of weekends ago. The wood actually softened up the ride a bit and gets a lot of looks.

Thanks for the comments. I have since removed the front brake. If anyone is interested in a wooden handle bar they can visit http://www.woodhandlebar.com/

Personally I feel like if you’re not racing it at the track then the breaks are permissible. It’s good to have an emergency break just in case. Just because you have it doesn’t mean you have to use it all of the time.

I’m pretty sure (99.9%) that those wheels are wienman and not Velocity Deep V. And I still see braze-ons. As for the brake, to each his own… I just don’t like to see kerin or full track frames with brakes retrofitted on to them.

Very clean. Love the bar. Personally I think it’s suicide riding brakeless. I should know. I commuted to and from work through four miles of rush hour traffic and had so many near misses my nine lives are up. Especially where I live now in Hillsboro, every block has hills going either way and I can’t stop in time for the five second traffic lights even with my 42-17. Be smart and hook up that emergency brake, bro.

@ Radio Flyer. You lose points for discouraging a brake.

you are one luck guy…i’d have loved to keep the original painting including the decals on my peugeot but there was no chance to resuce them.
