nice but that chain’s slackin’
first!

I like it but those bars look kind of odd. And yeah, chain slack on a coaster brake is ultra dangerous, shorten that shit!

punch you got issues B.

not bad.
i would raise the seatpost, lower the stem. and tape the bars with brooks leather or some other leather tape. but leave like, half an inch at the end so you can tell its solid at the end.

I like the old box rims on this. W/ Ryan…mustache bar would be cool. Why cut off derailleur hangers? It doesn’t make it look better….it’s a tiny piece of metal. I mean if it’s not some amazing, classic frame…..whatever….but still. Anyway, nice coaster…I vote mustache bar and some leather wrap.

I like these straight bars. The problem with moustache is they make the hands vulnerable to injury on a crowded ride with other cyclists and guard rails and such. Yesterday after around 8 miles on a crowded path my hands felt at risk several times on a North Road style old school bar about 50 cm. wide. Better a flat bar about 42 cm. wide with the hands closer to stem and not potential bumpers. Some airheads out for a Sunday ride take their half out of the middle of the path.

I remember back in maybe 84-85 I had this pos painted blue with house paint SS road bike with bad ass red anodized hub/rim alloy araya wheels(would have been worth a fortune now)on it with 4 and a half foot cowhorn handle bars,I was the shit, rideing home from school with about 30 other kids,I was given a wide berth unless some random wanted to be taken out, when I ride my beachcruiser (3 and a half ft bars)I get a massive grin on my face, theres just something cool about rideing with wide bars, impratical in the city but its a cool feeling to me anyway

I took the cut drops off my Raleigh record and for fun put some old Schwinn Texas Longhorns on and took off the front brake and will take photo soon and post for a good roast.

yer I should get my act together and do my cruiser properly and post it,im still doing my drillium bike, sort of gone sideways with other stuff going on at the mo

Sup it was a joke. That’s a strange name for a bar though, seriously.

Thanks for the comments guys! moustache? i’ve tried them for a couple of years but..it’s real..i work in a beach and during summer there’s alot of people…it’s difficult not to crash into a car…dildo bar is great for that! …uhm… i’ll think about leather wrap
September 7th, 2010 @12:55 pm
Cool old bike. I like it. I would need to wrap / grip the bars but this bike looks like big fun. Enjoy.

I can’t believe that a manufacturer named a set of bars the “Velosolo dildo” bars. That is just freaking hilarious. Solo in Italia!! Che grande! bella bici Paolo – classica, con stile. My curiosity re: coaster brakes is getting higher by the minute.
September 9th, 2010 @2:58 pm
now I get it!lol!lost in translation,eh?
September 9th, 2010 @10:06 pm
!LOL! Velosolo is a bike shop..in england and they sell that funny bar named “VeloSolo Squeeze Bar”..but my bike friends they all say dildo bar and seems that in japan(where the first bar comes from) the name is dildo. A strange kind of japan humor?
i bought the coaster brake in a flea market for 10 euro, it works real good

I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks it’s ridiculous.
