Steel Nitto riser with Ourys? I can hear the complaints already. Don’t listen to it. Their is a reason its a popular set-up. The frame looks like it has a story to tell but what the @#%$& is it? The brown saddle with black grips on a red bike tells everyone either your not gay or you don’t care. Either way –bravo.

Hold on a second. Whats going on with the brakes? It looks like the cable is going aft and the front is dormant.

Have pride in your ride, even if its Frankenstein. As for the brake setup, its pointless having the disconnected assembly on the front rim, but that’s excusable if there wasn’t a cable and lever available to install. And on a single speed it makes sense to have a rear brake, if only one, so when you jam it you dont go over your bars. That’s how most bmx, especially dirt jumpers, are set up. Save your pennies and this frame could look pretty sweet.

Yeah I don’t have an extra lever. I had that front brake on to add a bit of perspective to the finished product.

OK single speed and so is my fixed wheel. Coast or not that is the question. As for brakes today it was raining lightly and I needed both brakes to stop even moderately fast on level ground. When it is dry the back alone can lock up with the caliper brake. However today both were needed with out a doubt. 40 degrees and raining and alloy rims on a lightweight bike around 22 lbs. and 155 lbs. of rider. Stop and think about that all you skid steer stereotypical cowboys with heads of carbon fibre !
