This is an old Gazelle trackframe. Complet strip down, new powdercoated, all old Zeus parts are polished. Wheels are build with old wavespokes, brake Diacompe saddle for trackforks – works perfect. Cool feeling to ride this short trackframe. You wanna see more? visit me under retrospeedstyle61.de

sweet but the bars.

Are those spokes very practical. I feel like they aren’t for an everyday ride. Never seen that before. Enlighten me.

Your spokes are insane looking. Mo info?

The wiggly spokes sure are unusual. They would give a small amount of “suspension”. But would also soak up some of the power input from the chain instead of delivering it to the road.

Hi guys,
i ride only for fun in the sun, no stress, no competetion. Years ago i ride 15.000km per year – now it`s ok to roll out for vanillaice. That´s it.
BTW the spokes work like all other!

I can’t imagine that little bit of wiggle in the spokes would do anything other than aesthetics (I personally don’t like the look). I did have one of the first monoshock BMX and that soaked up ALL my energy on every crank (even with the shock maxed out tight). Now, whenever I see people huffing by on the new MTB monoshocks, I think: “Suckerrr”…but they are getting an excellent workout :p

You are right – it´s only the look, and they are NOS parts and you can`t get them today. No matter if you dont like them but for the show it`s great. If you look for powertransver – you are also right – that`s not the way to build a compbike. This is the same with radial spokes on the rear left side. But as i write – no stress if i roll out for icecream!

Unique build. Black is simple. Spokes are different. I like the bar ends.

Why?!

I know I already mentioned it once, but you raped not only this frame, but the bike. This is Gabe work except you’re molesting a nice frame. Also, what is with the checkered stickers? I can’t help but notice they are popping up on many of your builds. Discount at Advanced Auto?

Hate to say but I agree with Virgil after looking at the “before” pic. Why the hell would you modify an original track bike? It’s sacrilege.

This is crazy story. The owner wants, that i do it like this. After rebulid he has no money to pay for his order. So he pay with the bike. Thats it.

Oh Dear, That’s some serious puppy killing..

Why all the hubb bubb bub? The black is an improvment(I hate purple),it’s stll a real track frame, they’re only stickers and the silly bars can be changed out in five minutes! He was doing what his customer asked and got stuck with the bill. I would buy this if I was flush and ride it till the wheels fell off. Nice build, don’t see any Gabeisms here.

NICE BIKE , love the handlebar and the color. Remove some links from your chain and slam the rear wheel as far forward as you can get it , ad a tensioner to keep it taut.

Original paint can never be restored. They don’t even use the same materials or methods, let alone decals. I don’t care if someone paid me to change an original track bike – fuck that, fuck them. Oh wait, they didn’t even pay you.

Good point about the original paint but it can be a tough call. At what point does patina become crusty crap looking. The Romani I’m restoring is in that place. Finding decals is the only thing keeping me from a repaint,so for now it’s functional rebuild and maybe learn to make waterslide decals for a future cosmetic build. Some repaints on here are pretty good.
