So I have been working on this bike paycheck-to-paycheck over the past couple months. I finally got it in a ride able form… but there are still a couple things on my list (a brake, grips, and new wheels mostly). But, here is what I have on it so far -
Frame – Bianchi Super Pista
Stem – Thomson Road Stem
Handlebars – Nitto RB021 SSB
Seat – Brooks B17
Seatpost – Thomson Elite
Crank / BB – Sugino Messenger
Pedals – MKS GR9
Wheels – Retro Deep V (from my old bike… I know I need upgrades badly haha)
Anyway, I looking to use this as a commuter to get to and from school and work pretty much every day. Tell me what you think, or what needs improvement.

wrap the bullhorns,
get a matching seat.
Brooks doesn’t fit on this frame.

white overkill, but can’t deny it looks tight

those wheels look good.Wrap bars to match the seat so it doesn’t stand alone. nice ride.

Nice! Maybe blk wheel low profile? Blk grips? Hack the hooks off the saddle to stream line? I like it as is. Yeah, Tight.

I think it looks good with those rims, they sort of match the thick frame tubes. Maybe another saddle? that brooks do look a bit out of place. And instead of chopping the hooks of the bars you could swap to a shorter stem to bring the bars back..

maybe it looks out of place but butts don’t have eyes and comfort rules. Brown, blue and white look good together.Brown wrap would tie it all together.

level your saddle.
brooks are nice but looks really out of place on this bike.
wrap the bars. brake would be good.
i like the bottom half (top tube down) of this bike.
perhaps a level black fizik saddle and black tape or grips would complete this bike.

I was actually going to eventually do what sloman said – wrap the bars to match the seat. I also thought about trying to find some brown toe straps to get a nice triangulation of brown-ness going with the whole thing.

i personally like the brooks saddle on this bike

newer B17 with black rails goes with black posts of the modern build, great alternative to a Sella San Marco Concor and resembles the classic racing shape with a hint of stealth. Personally have removed the Brooks saddle bag hangers to further clean up the lines, ruins resale, but Brooks is a keeper for life same as some feel for Bianchi. To my eye the touch of silver on the tip of the saddle pulls any other silver bits in plus Honey reminds me of classic sweet.

you waited to spend money on all the best parts but you never considered how they went together. this bike has no flow. the brooks b17 does not fit.
