Be gentle. My first fixie. Bought it as an old converted single speed with all the original parts and a shortened chain. Since then I’ve slowly mashed it together from a mix of donated, second hand and new parts.
Parts are as follows…
Frame: 1984 Schwinn, either a Le Tour or World Sport is as far as I’ve narrowed it down.
Bottom Bracket: Shimano UN54.
Chain: KMC Superlight.
Crankset: Sugino Messenger chainring & RD2 crankset.
Pedals: Atomlab Polytech w/ Holdfast straps
Wheelset: Alexrims w/ Formula hubs & Vittoria Randonneur tyres.
Drops: Champion road drops, came with bike.
Seatpost: Stock, came with bike.
Seat: San Marco Ischia.
Brakes: Stock from my LBS.
Fork: Same as above.
Think that’s all the parts I know.. some good, some standard as far as I can tell… If anyone can narrow down the frame from these photos that would be awesome.
Hope somebody likes it as much as I do.

I dig the gold and maroon. It’s a good combo. Really like these wheels.

I think it’s lovely. Congrats.

@Sloman yeah it is a little confused… I was going to get a black seatpost and forks so it’s a bit more uniform. It’s still technically a work in progress I guess. Starting to think that I might leave this as it is and invest in good parts for my next build for summer though.

pimping … ever thought of vajazzling it up a bit more

This looks great considering its budget. A silver stem will do considering a gold stem and post would be overkill in my opinion, and a gold fork would be straight out tacky; so I don’t understand sloman’s confusion.

silver stem and brown seat/tape if it were mine

It looks cool as is. Ride it for a while, and then make a call on changing parts. Otherwise great first build. Also as your already thinking of a second build, welcome to the club of dumbass rabid bike builders! NG is current club chairman far as I can tell.

Also is Ermintrude a reference to the old British kids TV show Magic Roundabout?

@B Idea-better name than dougal

@bad idea – Yep sure is, my boss named it but we both grew up in the UK so we saw the show as little kids… still a bit before my time though haha. I’ve also been riding it for a wee while now… rides really nicely… the only thing I think i’ll change is getting some track drops, mostly for cutting around in tight traffic, the road ones are quite wide. Glad you like it though, cheers.

Nice one Bubba. Even though you were a douche bag in your comment about my bike, I still think yours is pretty ok. Chuck on a mite supertype, and some Death Spray Custom bars, and Ermie will thank you. Plus, love the stem.

So it is Ermintrude from Magic Roundabout, nice!
I wish that I could vote again as you’d definitely extra points for the ultra obscure British TV reference. Ermintrude was definitely the character to go for from Magic Roundabout, she had style in spades.
Also in a very odd and useless piece of trivia, the RAF’s 8 Squadron named all of their Early Warning planes in the 1950′s after characters from the Magic Roundabout.
Otherwise putting on a set of drops seems like the right way to go, they’ll fit nicely with the overall look of the bike. Try a couple of pairs of for feel, I had a pair of ultra compact bars on one of my bikes, and found that I didn’t have the width to give me the leverage I needed for muscling up hills.
