Really think this looks good except for the shoe lace. The lace reminds me of the dreaded "pie plate". Did you add it for some visual interest because the bike is minimal and black? I'd yank the lace and throw a colored tire up front and that's it.

Not sure why this rates so low. It needs a little visual change but it's built well and functionally. I would swap in a 5 degree silver stem, silver seatpost, crank, maybe do some track grips and a stylish saddle. Also, I would remove the shoe laces, don't really understand the purpose, even visually, or why one subtle spoke card wouldn't suffice. This bike is in a similar mode to the Tank when I got it, practical but lacking a bolder style. And you don't have to replace everything but the frame, cockpit, and seatpost like I did with mine, because minor changes like a saddle and crank can completely alter the feel and style of your ride. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Whats the ribbon (?) in the back wheel for. At first I thought it was a super small disk brake ring in the back but the 3rd pic angle shows its in the spokes. Is there a purpose or is it just looks? Interesting frame. The rear triangle makes the bike look much bigger than it is on first glance. I'm interested in how you'd run the rear brake cable on a frame like this if you were to put one on.
