Number 6 in a series of 7 chrome framed custom builds by www.eastcoastbicycles.co.uk.
A nice mix of old and new with vintage GB black stem, Eastom bars, Dia Compe brake, Espresso brake lever, Ergotec seat stem, Brooks Black Flyer saddle, Gusset black and chrome chain and Scwalbe Lugano tyres on lightweight radial spoke QR front wheel and black fixed rear.
Over the next few moths there will be a few modifications. I will be upgrading to a black Miche crankset and a set of Espresso black alloy 700c bicycle wheels with 45mm deep profile black double wall rims just to make they whole thing even more black.

why is this a custom build? they didn’t build the frame, otherwise it wouldn’t be a 27 inch road frame with brake and gear brazeons converted to 700c wheels and fixed. i don’t call my bikes customs just because i changed the seat.

I feel sorry for the lonely cable bosses. They rest, idle, in forsaken sadness -pining for a time when they shined in useful endeavor. A tear for what is rendered useless.

This may sound like a dumb question, but is it ok to leave the cable bosses on the frame?
I ask because I’m converting an old Zebrakenko and I have passing thoughts about re-converting it to a geared bike in the future….
What do you think?

Lose the saddle and sit on that seat post; then you’ll know how I feel about this whip.

Hey Dave , theres nothing wrong with leaving the bosses for possible future use. Usually people remove or “shave” them off only to improve the look or cleanliness of the frame. Some will give you shit for not removing them, don’t listen. Your ride is your own. As for this one, I love a springy brooks but not on this bike. Something more low profile would suit it better. Also narrow strait bars aren’t my thing but to each his own. Cheers.
