Good points, but when ya lock the bike up at a coffee shop at night, they may just steal a saddle, it happened to a good friend, he had the same saddle I do. It may look awful, but I really dont care, at least I still have a saddle.
I used to lock up my saddles with an old drive train too. and (I suppose) it gave me some peace of mind. I’ve had pedals, racks, lights and bars with brakes stolen but a saddle thief is the worst. I haven’t been “hit” in a long time so maybe I’m loosing vigilance in my old age. Or, maybe I just stopped leaving it outside, overnight or in vulnerable locations anytime. There’s something really low about a bicycle theft and it is common almost everywhere. I suppose its only a matter of time.

Love the wing bar, ditch the saddle chain.

I would like to get of the saddle chain, but it is good security.

Those who trade freedom for security deserve neither. Ditch the chain and embrace freedom!

sadly in some places you would be free of a seat-if not a bike.reality sucks.

So, don’t leave such a nice bike in “some places”.
