Bravo to this brave experiment. I have fantasies about taking an ultra-light carbon frame and turning it into the lightest bike on the planet by stripping all but the basics. Then I remember I have bills to pay.
another wasted road frame=terrible fixed. Is their a track style carbon frame jqnyc? How about a belt drive carbon fixed eh? that should lighten our pockets considerably!
Well, yes as a matter of fact. I test drove the Trek District Carbon a while back. I think I appreciated its attributes. Sort of. If I was Bill Gates –that would be the bike for me. I’m more curious about the bamboo frames. That is when I’m in a “hey, look at me, I’m a trailblazer!” mood. This bike? Please a wasted bike is one that sits on its hanger. I’ve had a few of those so I know a thing or two about waste. Even then it was an education. Lets see how many miles gets put on this thing before you all start pointing fingers… waste :/ The thing that holds me back from this kind of project (besides the money) is that uncool chain-tensioner. That doesn’t mean he don’t like it.
Take the bike outside, that is one gorgeous view out of the side light window. How can it be enjoyable if you can’t back pedal with the tensioner. ? only half fixed.

I’ve got a carbon fiber Giant that is one rainy day from getting converted to single speed. It seems a waste, but I don’t ride it so its no big loss.

BULK! Not what I would call streamline or minimal but it looks like it could be fun.
