San Francisco, that’s the grimey Ocean Beach.
If I remove a link in the chain the wheel will rub. The gap probably looks big because I’ve skidded off half my tire.
Dude, those tires aren’t for skidding. Seeing as how you ride brakeless you probably skid a lot. You’ll burn right through those Rubinos if you haven’t already. Get some gatorskins or Randos.
I don’t understand why people assume that they know everything.
FIrst of all, I have a brake.
Second of all, they’re not Rubinos they’re Specialized Armadillos
Thirdly, I know what I’m doing and don’t need advice from internet people.
I don’t understand why people post their bikes on a site designed to rate and comment on bikes, then get upset with criticism. Oh, and your chain is too tight.
I don’t understand how you can tell that from a picture. On track bikes the chain should be as tight as possible without binding, which mine is. But I appreciate your attempt at being knowledgeable, along with Jimmy & Kyle. You should leave these matters to the people that actually know what they’re doing.
You’re right, dude. You know much more than professional bike mechanic who has most likely been riding and working on bikes for longer than you could wipe your ass without mommy helping. Carry on with your ignorance and have fun replacing your drivetrain components prematurely.
only thing wrong with the bike is that I need to screw the bb in tighter on the drive side to get the chainline perfect because I installed a new rear cog with different spacing (surly, I don’t know why the spacing is different), and the brake line is too long bc I thought I might flip the stem for comfort on longer rides but I don’t….anyways
ya,that’s the ticket. works as good as adjusting the chainline via the BB. I always wondered why those pesky things had so many threads. Thanks for clearing that up. I guess you DO know it all.
Chain is not straight hombre. Cog and sprocket not aligned. My old cog it was perfectly straight but this new P.O.S. Surly cog is different, so I need to screw the bb in a few mm to make the chain straight again. Should I draw you a diagram? I’m a really good artist. I could have it to you by tomorrow morning.
you bike nazis are really gullible. I got creamed by a drunk driver in 09, knee surgery, lost teeth, stitches on my face, insurance settlement the whole deal…was inactive for 2 years and this bike is the result of 1) settlement money and my desire to build a dream bike part by part, and 2) a family member that works in the industry and gets me wholesale price on every bike part known to man. Trust me I ride a lot, and this is my baby, affectionately named LUDOVICA which is Italian for “Armored Female Warrior.”
I posted this online ’cause I’m proud of it, and it’s mine, and one of a kind. .So when someone says “you should do this”, NO, YOU should do that when you build a bike. This is exactly the way I wanted it to be. I kinda thought a bunch of goombas might tell me what I “should do”.
Anyways cheers bros. I’m playin games, that’s my métier. Sarcastic cynicism. Enjoy the ride, hope you like my bike, piece owt.
Cool story, bro. And you’re too dumb to realize we’re just playing with you. I’ll remind you again that this site if for making criticism – whether constructive or not – and if you can’t deal with comments without getting your diaper all bunched up, do yourself a favor and don’t post.
Oh, and by the way…unless you have a Miche BB (which is adjustable), that’s not how bottom brackets work.
I’ll go ahead and point it right out for you, SIN. They were making fun of your BB adjustment scenario because proper chainline doesn’t come from finigling the BB (unless, in fact, you do have an adjustable BB, then all of this is for naught).
Finally! A “Go fuck yourself asshole” comment chain. I was wondering what happened. All you mind-reading chowderheads with xray vision have been so polite lately. The know-it-all jabs followed by your too dumb to know it was joke… no seriously comments are a hoot but please try and refrain from the “enjoy your next settlement” wish. You don’t really wish him ill-health. Do you?
Anyway, nice bike and glad you got to build it the way you like it. Looks stiff as hell. I can’t ride with bulls pointed down like that. Nice colors. Not a fan of the saddle but it looks cool. Those tires look like they have plenty of rubber on them.

black hose is woundup too tight

that frame is the wrong color black. Not dark enough. And the rear tire needs air. And SIN needs a reality pill.

You noobs probably don’t even put helium in your tires to make your bike lighter. That’s a free Pro Tip for you.

Fantastic..!
Why don’t you break out the measuring tapes and get it over with..?

I believe the Phil Wood cups and spindle has some lateral adjustment also. This bike looks quite together to me. Nice Build.
