This bike is begging for some pursuit style bullhorns. Top tube pad is pointless unless there’s a reason behind it. Otherwise it’s just another Pista Concept 3 with a top tube pad, risers and an aero front wheel. Also, I’m a huge supporter of a front brake, but if you have the skill to get by without one, more power to ya.

3 Non DS vs 1 DS
And havent you posted this bike already?
October 26th, 2011 @1:17 pm
Yea, but I updated new parts.

Feel the love emanating through that gorgeous omnium crank radiating to the celestial universe. Not a thing wrong that it has some protection from the harsh realities of the world. Nice bike.

Thanks JaKrazyM8

rim, rag, risers. Three strikes, yer out! Way to ruin “just another Concept”. A great frame hipstered to shame. Please sell it and get a Visp to hang shit on.
October 26th, 2011 @8:21 pm
Sloman, I’m not saying it’s “just another Concept”. I’m saying that it’s another Concept WITH a top tube pad and some other BS. I think you missed the second part of that sentence. I’ve seen a few nice Bianchi’s hipsterized with risers and top tube pads. I do understand that they are high end Italian frames and I agree that it would be better to do that this with a Visp.

HATERS!!!!!
October 26th, 2011 @8:55 pm
I can’t hate it man. Its not my style, and I don’t agree with some of your parts choices, but that fact that your out there riding your bicycle that you put together with parts you chose makes me a non hater. If I saw you in the streets I’d give you a thumbs up. I don’t hate any bike that gets ridden.

Thanks blendo I appreciate your honesty. Iv had many set ups which I don’t show here, but I have them on a different website.
October 26th, 2011 @9:19 pm
No problem. Sometimes I feel like I need to take a step back from the whole online fixed gear thing. There’s so much hate it’s ridiculous. I think if we all got together and rode we’d get along, but instead we cower behind screens and bring down other peoples rides just to feed the insecurities we have surrounding our own bicycles.
October 26th, 2011 @9:28 pm
Yea! thats exactly how I feel especially from this website. For some reason people just hate rather then give constructive criticism. Each person will have their own taste, but bottom line is that we all ride so why hate.
October 26th, 2011 @9:45 pm
Exactly. We’re all into this for the same reason, because we love bicycles, so I don’t understand why we need to bring each other down. I guess part of what makes it so great is that everybody does have their own taste. If they didn’t, everybody would have the same ride and it would be boring. There’s a lot of new riders who post bikes online and are met with hatred by the more experienced riders. I think its horrible that people aren’t providing proper guidance for those new to fixed gear. If I see somebody with a wonky setup I try and post some positive advice to how they can correct it instead of being a dick and saying its down right crap. Whenever I see somebody with a setup I don’t necessarily like I just have to remind myself that there different strokes for different folks.

OK,honesty time. Blendo,I was with you on the waste of a great frame part.I DO hate to see beautiful frames decked out like Barbi’s hip dream. Why corrupt them with crap choices to cruise the latte havens. It just is not good. Would you put 22″ spinners on a classic Alfa?Bikes like this only come across to me as displays of”look what I got”. If you must ,corrupt a “regular”Pista. But butchering a Concept(or Fuji or top end Leader) is a step too far. Just choosing bulls would help here. Using it at the track would be better. Beating down to Hipster heavens sucks.

bla bla bla
honestly the point of this site is to nit pick on people’s bikes, get over it if you dont like it. because sometimes its fun to spend 5 minutes during your work day procrastinating on here while sipping the morning coffee “hating” on peoples bikes. i dont really think of it as hating though, moreso pointing out what you dont like about their bike….non-sugarcoated constructive criticism.
for instance, this is a great frame, i have one myself. i even have sram omniums on mine as well. but putting risers on a dedicated track frame like the pista concept is just so hipster passe it really brings down the build in my opinion. want risers? get a fixed gear street frame (different IMO than a TRACK frame) and its amazing how bad a top tube pad will make a potentially nice build look. honestly, (IMO) they are fucking ugly.
IMO: wheelset in picture 1, with the drops, sans-top tube pad, and you have an excellent build.
October 27th, 2011 @10:21 am
I do have drops and bullhorns which i use most of the time. I just use the risers on short rides.
October 27th, 2011 @2:11 pm
i dig it!
October 27th, 2011 @2:29 pm
thanks james!

October 27th, 2011 @10:32 pm
I dig the risers and black rear wheel!

Personally the padding isnt necasary. If your worried about scratches then you shouldn’t be. They dont hurt anyone. But I understand that its your baby. And youll do anything to protect it.
Sweet frame love it to bits. Also a big fan of the hed 3.
November 4th, 2011 @8:29 am
Thanks JM! I actually take it off every once in a while to get it dirty
December 15th, 2011 @10:29 pm
I actually kind of like it. The setup makes sense for street riding. I have the luxury of having 6 bikes (a CF road bike, a CF tri bike, a mountain bike, a vintage Raleigh, a Concept for the velodrome, and a steel fixie for daily commutes). Each is set up for the specific riding I do. So, really, in judging a bike, you need to understand the purpose it is set up for. Form follows function. What I think is cool is that people are riding, and customizing bikes based on their wants and needs.
December 21st, 2011 @1:14 am
Thanks Jacksprat
… and I completely agree with you about each rider having their own taste of how they want to customize their rides.
December 21st, 2011 @9:21 am
I could see that last picture again if you came into cubic cash and scored a rear Aerospoke. Paired they are a good look(but expensive). No brake doesn’t bother me with that small gearing and the top pad is useful for toteing(still ugly). Celeste is just too hard to mess up and this ones OK with drops. But lose the f-ing risers, they are embaressing.
December 24th, 2011 @8:00 pm
Thanks sloman for your suggestions. I am actually selling the hed3 so I might be able to get a matching rear aerospoke or just get a front b43 radial laced.
