I really like this. Cable and all. Can’t really say why, but maybe it’s just because it’s obviously someones bike and not a hipster accessory. And, no offense to anyone, but this is the only time I have ever seen an Alter that actually looks like it belongs. ( that is an alter, right? )
If the rear brake(evidently reguired by law) is all you can hate on this is a pretty nicely done build. Think of the awkward cable routing as a protest thing as”look,I have a damn rear brake copper, now shove off!” I would have made it red!
Want to apologise if my earlier posts caused the misunderstanding to everyone

Annoying things from this year changes law on Japan,
And be clamped down on condition does not apply the brakes ago fines levied more than 50000 yen (approx. US $ 600)!
Quite a confusing nationality situation in Japan in your embarrassing.
One of the nicer Pistas. Love the Pista. Whats up with the brake cable wrapping? How does that affect the efficiency of the brake line? Some Pistas (like mine) have cable bosses. Apparently this one don’t. I have a bike I was considering drilling into the top tube to channel the cable through its insides and sealing with some form of cool looking electrical hardware.
probably the nicest, most usable Pista on here. Perfect balance of subtle upgrades and everyday practical. If I could only have one ride, this would be it.
I believe Scrod’s point was only the cable routing not the rear brake itself. And the cable looks really tacky on what’s a surprisingly tasteful Pista. Clean the cable up, or just remove the entire rear brake IMO, if law permits. I’d also remove the wheel stickers. That’d secure a 10 from me. 8 so far.

Run the cable through the tube.

You’re really okay with that stupid cable routing?

@scrodzilla
As we know
Increasingly use nearly skid or front brakes
Recently in Japan severe crackdown
For the time being traffic law compliance measures for increasingly fitted rear brake
August 11th, 2011 @6:04 am
just use zip ties. the more resistance from twisted cable results in less braking power.
August 11th, 2011 @7:05 am
wow a pista frame with two brakes…… :/
August 11th, 2011 @7:22 am
Ridiculous, but I try everyone?
Is this wire unwieldy even more performance.
Thought of as a human person is…
It is a matter of when riding around town with pedestrian protection awareness.
Wearing fixed gear riding is best only “no brake” unlikely.
I’m removing the brake is not required but too little time.
I am enjoying appropriate to your situation.

Mr.Sloman, I hope Yes, glad you received.
Red cable idea is cool!
However, is whether or not my bike to become a subtle…
My tiny weeny resistors are nice exercised political though. HA HA HA

i like it, nice.
i would have personally gotten some of those clamp on road bike cable routers for the top tube, but whatever, nice bike
August 12th, 2011 @7:40 pm
I really like your stem and bar combo. I think it looks much sleeker than the stock pista
August 13th, 2011 @3:51 pm
can’t deal with that rear cable, it just looks out of place… however (for once) the cinelli alter looks completely IN place!
