Hi,
here is Miky from Ticino/Switzerland.
This is my first fixie conversion. Sure not the last one!
Bianchi “Campione del mondo” Frame with Columbus fork, Velocity Deep-V Limited edition Skull wheelset with Formula hubs with Origin8 brand,
VeloSolo Dildobar, VeloSolo 15T gold track cog, EighthInch 46T track crankset , HKK Vertex track chain, Brooks Swift saddle and handlebar tape
and DiaCompe Goldfinger front brake lever.
Very nice webpage. Thanks for the inspirations.
Ciao
Miky

these wheels are just tacky.

“just tacky” it’s your personal view. Much people love this “particular touch” on this bike. Regards

Is your front wheel machined for breaks?? I didn’t think those were because of the decals on the rims. It seems like the paint is going to wear away after a while in the front.

Hi, no the front wheel is not machined but i don’t use the front brake . I mounted the brake only for law questions here in Switerland. Thanks anyway

I like how you went for Brooks but didn’t get a b17 like everyone else. I’ve never liked patterned wheels but I like these on yours. Somehow the gold chain, cog and brake lever work with the skulls and honey leather. Well done.

I think these had replacable hangers so may not be cut off.Shifters and brake guides intact, all is not lost.Agree though, too many great roaders getting cut. Why,when there are Kilos and such so available and cheap with horizontal drops?Even the dreaded chrome Pistas can be got used for two bills or less and are great frames.
September 7th, 2010 @1:06 pm
That’s what I’m sayin Slo. There’s only so many of these nice, vintage frames out there.
September 7th, 2010 @1:52 pm
not many years ago you couldn’t giveaway a decent roady, everyone wanted MTBs.even just to cruise the hood.Cheap roadies begot the fixie craze(there were always a few fixie runners around but they were much more narrow in their focus-track frames, brakeless, hardcores)Hipsters and wannabes started scoring the castoff cheap frames andconverted them.Ironic that the manufacturers are now making real frames and I predict the collapse of the craze soon.Seen the Felt TK4130?skip tooth and all for sub $800!So leave the conversions alone.Or cut up the Free Spirit types.

I meant convert but please don’t cut the nice ones.sorry for the rant.lots of time today, watching paint dry .good fumes thoughLOL
