Heres my mid-late 80′s Schwinn World Sport. Recently re-built and painted. Sugino Crank 42/16. Its a single speed, not a fixie which is why I have both brakes. Crank Brother Candy pedals (I love them). No name bullhorns. Cane Creek bar end levers. Selle Royal Respiro saddle. 1/8 KMC chain.
I love the thing to death, rides like a dream. Tell me whatcha think.

I like the colours on this old beast. Can you tell us the weight ? Schwinn made some pretty heavy bikes judging by my old Varsity 1977.

I like the colors. I’ve never been a fan of bar end levers or the over-sized bullhorns.

It weighed 32.8 lbs bone stock when I got it. Now with a lot of new stuff thrown on it she’s down to 27.2 lbs. I was hoping for 25, but I can live with a heavy bike. Hell, I’m >200 lbs myself. Guess I’ll just lose it off my gut.
I’m not too big on the bar ends either, but I spend 90% of my time up on the horns and in a pretty busy area so there’s no choice.

What’s with all the conversions?

Bikes too big for you?

Nope, it’s actually the perfect size. Since this picture was taken I’ve moved the saddle up another 2-3 inches. Why do you ask?
