I am lucky to begin with a Bianchi Columbus frame that fits me like a glove, added a set of deep-v Velocity wheelset in silver, Schwalbe Durano tires in cream, brown Charge Spoon saddle, brown faux leather tape to compliment the classy black frame with gold decals.

Another great conversion! Love the colors you have going on. Looks classy and well thought out. Only thing I would change is the angle of the horns. I find they look much better and are more comfortable if they are angled down just a bit. Maybe that’s just a personal opinion. I’ve never been a fan of bar end levers, but sometimes you have to be function over form. Some gum wall tires would really compliment the vintage look. Faux leather bar tape looks sweet. My girlfriend is looking for some tape like that and has been unsuccessful. Brooks is a little bit more than she’d like to spend. Do you mind telling me where you got the tape from?

Hi Blendo, thanks for viewing my post, glad you like it. The bar tape is off eBay, Deda Mistral Synthetic Leather, it was approx. $25 w/ shipping. In retsospec, I think gumwall tyres would be great also, the cream tyres I have on have great performance but they have worn black from the tarmac, just looks dirty. Have a good one!

cool conversion, me gusta. i disagree with blendo about bullhorn angle, its just a subjective opinion thing i guess….but i like how you have them, always liked bullhorns when they are parallel to the top tube, never really liked bullhorns angled downward. also is there a functional reason for angling them downward? i see people do it and im assuming its not just for looks….hopefully. seems like it would be uncomfortable. also, as opposed to blendo again (haha sorry mang) i like the look of the barend levers. i dont like the look when there is just one, so liking that there are both and both in silver.
anywhoo nice conversion

@illdthedj I can only speak for my self, but i ride a persuit frame with bullhorns. I have them lowered slightly, feels like my body is somewhat better angled down in the bull, and i have a better grip like that. If i put them like straight when rideing straight bar bikes, i dont rly get the effect. (as in when i am not rideing my persuit frame.)
On the persuit it feels like my hands falls naturally in when i stand up to accelerate real fast, due to them sloping downwards a little. So my hands rest in the curve of the bull. Hope you get me here.

I find that putting my bullhorns at a slightly descending angle makes the angle of the ends a bit easier to hold onto. It also helps me get lower over the bars. And I’ll be honest, I like the pursuit look it gives. That’s just how it works for me. There are some things that should always be a certain way, like saddle angle, but as you said illdthedj, other things like bars and lever setups are subjective.

I agree with exactly what Hindsberg said. I couldn’t have explained it better myself.
