My second fixed gear. Used a plain white 2010 Langster steel track frame from my LBS. Wanted to keep it light, and not too flashy color-wise. Dura-Ace/Mavic Open wheelset. Miche Advanced crank set. Charge Spoon saddle with Miche Supertype seat post. Campy brake. MKS pedals and cages. Rides like a rocket!

Superb looking bike. That seatpost looks like a piece of surgical equipment. So cool.

Looks fantastic. I love the white/ brown colour combo and your choice of components. The seatpost is pure artwork. Not much I’d change, but I’d probably fit track drops personally. I want this bike, now to go out and get a new frame…

Haha! Yawn? I’m pretty sure this is the first 2010 langster steel here – totally different design, geometry and fork than the “themed” bikes seen in stores (and comp versions). I was thrilled pulling it out of the box. Really well built frame I’d highly reccomend.

this frameset is on my “new frame” short list.

I don’t ever plan on pulling a bike out of a box. Just like I’ll never buy a new car.

Beautiful! Love the details! 10*

beautiful bike! i’d get some toe straps!

i really like this bike being thats its the “steel” but a higher score than both of the kinfolks? i dont think so..

Agree… It’s a nice bike. But there are some amazing bikes on this site that aren’t in the “top ten”. I’ve completely given up on the rating system. For example….the fact that the PorteurXLeather bike is rated a 5.8something with 300+ votes….are you kidding me?!!

i vote this 1 star like everyday just to bring it down. doesnt belong in the top 5!
its still a great bike though..

Don’t usually like white bikes.. mostly due to the ghosts but this has just enough contrast to pop…
sick bike.. especially love those bars and the strapless cages make it look super clean..
nice

The build looks wonderful. I’m glad they ditched the aluminum and sloping top tube.
August 17th, 2010 @11:35 am
Concur. What’s up with the whole sloping top tube thing on non-mtb frames? I don’t like the look. Is there some kind of structural advantage?…or ride quality difference? Or is it just a design preference? Straight across or sloping down toward the head tube looks good to me.

nice and clean

Gorgeous. love it. bars and saddle, and the subtle touch of that brown/tan colour on the tyres. really well done buddy

From the perspective of an old geezer who’s ridden many a fine bike, this is easily the most elegant fixie rendition I’ve ever seen. Does anyone know of a similar look, more road-oriented frame which might make for a more geezerable ride?

i found another top ten guys… this thing is perfect. i would just mount my lever closer to the stem but i can understand wanting to show off nitto

Tasty. Pretty bike, pretty perfect. I’m a fan. I love these new, inexpensive frames. Those Taiwanese computer welding robots churn out precision. Take that John Henry. Put those sexy parts on em’ and you’ve got the best possible ride. Don’t get me wrong; I love the rebuilds, repurposed/retired track-bikes and the effort and all that that means but as a street rider… I heart cheap, new frames!

hard to argue with that logic. As long as the materials, design and Q/C are up to snuff. But then you get POSs like Visp that are so hit and miss. Some of them are shipped untapped and the welds are truly poor. The pissed on Pista is a good example of a frame few of us could afford twenty years ago that is so common now that some complain. That would have cost a thousand bucks (in 1990 bucks)just for a bare frame. Now it’s six bills complete ,ride it home, the welds are probably better, the tubing is top grade and I can upgrade as things wear out.win-win. Converting a well worn ten speed that needs paint and help hardly makes sense nowdays.
