Never heard of a Sprocket with this name> the bike is neat and the shop is beautiful as well. Nice Work!

Meh. Over did it with the credit card. And those straps look like ankle weights. Man up and throw some track cages on your track bike.

I actually really love everything about this bike. I do love the risers, even though they should be black. I especially love the crank and those beautiful H + Son Rims!! Totally clean build!!

Sick build! I’m looking into a Super Pista myself for city riding, which it looks like you’re into as well. I’m not sure I would’ve put risers or those straps, but to each his own. Well done.

i must say…. it’s sexy.

such a waste of a great frame.
June 13th, 2010 @5:39 am
I still like it. A great frame is a great frame, like a woman, ride it and enjoy.

analogous to seeing a Professor cleaning toilets, potential wasted.I’ll admit to a bit of envy(even if it’s not celeste)still sad to see and gives me an excuse to cruise Craig’s list, knowing when Biff is bored with showing off he’ll move to the next fad.cheers

Somebody please explain the complaints. This new Pista is not much different from the last model aluminum super pista. A nice aluminum frame if you go for that sort of thing. Yes, Im sure its a great frame. The parts look to be pretty standard, high(er) quality –Paul Tompson etc.. The pedals look like his “winter” pedals. I wish I had the energy to swap out clunkers for my winter shoes but I’m lazy and loosen up the straps instead. The risers are a little silly looking. I guess. But risers are perfect for a certain kind of urban riding. Looks balanced for urban riding. Not getting the complaints. Its a bike.

agreed JQ, if he likes it do it. Sloman has two bianchis also as I recall and wants a monopoly on the track. I feel disinclined to post with all the complaints if the bike is not like they think it should be. nit pickers convention / one wife is enough for me. Thanks I’m off to waste some great paint on a fresh canvas but it’s relaxing ?
June 13th, 2010 @10:58 am
actually,it’s three Bianchis so I am biased.I can wait to get this one used, hardly ridden but still the wrong color. At least it isn’t chromed.Aluminum right?Strip it!

where did you buy the frame dude? im in sydney, can’t find any super pista and pista concept

It’s an okay urban assault vehicle, though it will look extremely dated in ten years. Still probably a very fast and fun ride. Light? I’m not sure. I just know I don’t like how chunky the aluminum tubing is compared to lugged frames.
September 28th, 2010 @11:53 am
rest assured Pman,it is very light even with those clunky “heavy”aluminum tubes.and lugged, steel bikes ride nice.and alim still weighs less than steel.now those wheelsand petals are another story.

This bike has some killer parts, many of which are right down my alley. I think there is an obsessive pursuit of classic bikes that blinds this site. My only beef with it is why spend extra money on an aluminum frame and carbon fork if you aren’t racing it? The steel versions of the Pista, now expanded to include the classic silver, classic blue, classic black, the via Condotti (celeste) or the via Brera (cream), are equally if not more attractive, will undoubtedly survive the perils of a city more and are cheaper. I feel immediately slightly sad when I see a Pista concept or Super Pista on city streets

@Fab: It’s weird but I’ve seen very few steel Pista frames in SF bike shops over the last six months when compared to Super Pista’s which seem to in stock just about everywhere. Given the attention span of an average hipster used Super Pista frames are now getting pretty inexpensive compared to a new steel Pista.
I managed to pickup a basically unused frame from a friend for ~$350, and I have to say that after media blasting and polishing it’s looking pretty sweet!

A Super Pista Twenty-Ten is up for sale at a lb but its to expensive a build like that is well worth over 1K just the frame is 8 bills plus those rims and crank are around 500 so can’t hate just envy…nuff said
