This was my first attempt at a single speed conversion. The bike sat for the last 20 years in a dusty garage. It’s been fun converting it. Its a good rider so far, although I think I’ll try a different saddle and and 48t chain ring.

Saddle does look weird. Bike looks good though. No straps?

Very nice conversion. Love that chainring. It would be a shame if you lost it. I also like the original drops.

Wow you really brought this back to life man, nice conversion. For all of our sakes though.. changes thoughs pedals, man. They look aweful on this bike.

Thanks for the comments! I do like this chain ring so I’m going to experiment with some larger freewheels until I found the magic number. The pedals do look a little clunky I guess, but I like the large platform and I wanted to change the look of the bike. Love this site BTW!

i almost feel like if you had restored the road bike it might have been nicer than the conversion. but whatever floats your boat i guess.

I’ve never seen a disc on a roadie. Weird. Anyway, nice job. Look at MKS GR-9 because yeah.. these pedals are gross.

I liked the disc wheel.. I would have just try to convert the disc wheel to single speed instead of buying.
