Here’s my freshly built 09 Jamis Sputnik. I bought it from a former Canadian Olympian in Hamilton ON, Canada. This is the last Sputnik that came with a carbon fork. I built it with good quality components…NO FLASH!!! So it may not appeal to the B43, Aerospoke, top tube pad crowd.
Here are the specs:
Frame/Fork: Reynolds 631 tubes with full Jamis Carbon Fork
Crankset/BB: 49t Miche Primato Advance with Miche Primato BB
Wheelset/Hub: Mavic OP’s on Dura Ace track hubs with 18t Surly cog
Stem: Thomson Elite X2
Handle Bar: Deda Elementi Pista
Seatpost: Thomson Elite
Saddle: Brooks B17 Standard…Wide Ass!
If there’s anything else I should do to her, asides from “riding her’ hard!” feel free to let me know. Oh, and I made sure to include drive side photos…Thanks, Bryan

Lovely bike, some color would be nice though.

Looks good, but can someone give me the lowdown on Thomson stuff? What am I missing?

Thomson components are quality stuff and lighter than some carbon components. Nice quality build. For some on this site, I think I’d rather ride a bike with quality components instead of riding a piece of shit coloured pink with B43 just to look cool. Keep up the trends hipsters!

Hahaha…For my next build I’ll start with a neon green frame, aeropokes and use anything NJS stamp…perfect 10!!!

This needs a B43, aerospoke and a big fat tube pad. NO…but really…. Nice build. Looks like a fun ride. I like the mostly black but with silver spokes…nicely done. How are you diggin the 631? I ride an Angus, also 631 and love it. I’ve been really happy with the ride quality. Super stiff but still lively and totally smooths out the bumps.

631 is very nice. I’m building a 631 Soma Rush for my girlfriend and this time I’ll be powdercoating it pink! I’ll make sure to put on a huge maxi “top tube” pad on it too!

Haha nice. That’s cool your girl rides too. So she understands the addiction and that it’s not that you love your bike more than her….just differently :]
